The soil tasting was hosted by Laura Parker, an artist who specializes in finding the specific taste of a place. She believes that by smelling and eating a little bit of the soil, one can connect to the land and the products (vegetables, cows, wine grapes, etc.) that are grown/produced on the land. Parker started by scooping a small spoonful of soil into a wine glass. She mixed it with water until it had a melted chocolate-like texture.
