During the Sparks, NV, Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off, I had a Flintstonian moment while eating an oversized beef rib. Although I enjoy biting into meat right off the bone (smoked turkey leg, I'm looking at you!), a co-worker told me should would have been disgusted by gnawing at any kind of bone, let alone a giant one. How about you?

CaterpillarGirl couldn't have said it better myself. I sometimes cringe at the wording used on this site. I eat meat, on the bone, off the bone doesn't matter.

I love attacking bones, as it seems like the meat is so much tastier. Small bones I'll eat (especially if they're roasted, so they're almost crumbling), as with most of the cartilage. Damn it, I could kill for some spare ribs right now.

Depends on where I am. At home by myself, yes I'll use my hands. Out with others or at a barbecue, no way!

Yes, yes a thousand times yes. And I'm even more than happy to gnaw at the bone...:drool: I sometimes can eat the bones of chicken clean if there's no one around esp. LOL.

I have this oral thing where I can't stand the texture of certain things against my mouth, like popsicle sticks/wooden coffee stirrers and bones, so I always take any meat I'm about to eat off of the bone. My husband likes to gnaw on bones when he eats steak though...watching him do it makes my skin crawl because I'm imagining it in my mouth. Weird, but true.

Chief, I don't think bacon comes on the bone (lol), BUT I have seen people make ribs wrapped in bacon and smothered in sauce...so its kinda like eating it off the bone.

Hell to the yes! I love a big ribeye on the bone... Ok, maybe I don't pick up the whole steak and eat it off the bone, but I will naw the good bits off the bone.

I don't eat meat on the bone. I don't really know why, there's just something about it. I certainly wouldn't say someone else is gross for doing so, though. I generally think it's rude to say someone else's food is gross.

I don't mind it at all. But my hubby isn't a fan - mostly because he doesn't like messy food. He's totally missing out!

There should be an option for veggies just because I would prefer to see the % of those who eat meat, but not off the bone. Me? I would put Fred Flintstone to shame,lol.
