Do You Shop Farmers Markets Less Often in Winter?

As much as I look forward to items like blood oranges and escarole in the Winter, I don't frequent the farmers market as much as I do during the Summer, when stone fruits, tomatoes, and corn are in abundance. What about you?

Actually, I shop at the farmers market less in the winter because we live in an area where there aren't many farmers anyway, and the market is overrun with arts & crafts in the winter. I'll go if I need eggs, but that's about all that the winter market has to offer me.

Ours is closed in the winter. Not big on squashes anyways.

I can go all year around too. I guess I buy in all seasons just the same.

I'm lucky I live in California, so I try to go all year around; just wish my local Farmers Market was open on Saturday.

Yea, I don't have any open markets by me in the winter. They all closed before Thanksgiving. We have an indoor market, but it's really all meat. Since I'm a vegetarian, not very helpful, lol

Where I live in Florida, the farmers' market season is in the winter.

No, sadly, during the winter, we buy our produce from California or farther! I would definitely go. You Californians should appreciate your situation. We don't have a real winter farmers market in Columbus, OH. There is a limited farmers-type market held indoors, but it doesn't contain any produce or meat, just local goods.

In Colorado, there unfortunately aren't farmer's market produce available in the winter. Fortunately, there are several open from May-October and I stock up every week.

I think I only associate farmers markets as being open in the summer, it didn't occur to me to go to one in the winter
