Like many others first time yes, after that I change to taste UNLESS it's garlic. At the very least, I always double it. So far so good!

for some reason i can never fallow one i always mess something up in it but it turns out good most of the time and when i cook my own stuff i never wright it down

Same as Spectra - only follow the recipe when baking.

I tend to measure the first go around when making a new recipe but then eyeball the recipe when I want to adjust the taste and texture of the food.

I don't measure exactly unless I'm baking. Otherwise, I just try to get kind of close.

I can usually tell if a recipe hasn't enough garlic or something, and I'll add more. But the first time, I"m usually accurate.

I use recipes as a starting point for what herbs and spices work together but usually just eye-ball the amount. Baking I always get out the measuring spoons and cups.

When making a new recipe, I always follow measurements, regardless of what it is. Once I know the recipe, I don't mind measuring less. But I always measure baking ingredients exactly. Baking seems like such a science, and it's not worth the risk of it not turning out right!

I loathe measuring. This is why I rarely bake! It's always fun to look at recipes for inspiration, though.

Yes when using a recipe I've never tried before. I usually alter recipes to my own taste though after I've tried them first. ;)

I almost always follow a recipe "as written" the first time I make it, so I have an idea how the recipe was intended to taste. If or when I make the dish again, I will make adjustments according to personal tastes. :)
