Do You Use Seafood Tools at Home?

Right now, the West Coast is in the midst of Dungeness crab season. While I'd love to buy some fresh crabs to consume at home, I don't have crab crackers or seafood forks on hand, which would make eating fresh crab or lobster at home much easier — so I have to enjoy shellfish at restaurants instead. Do you have your own tools for eating seafood?

we have a nutcracker and it works just fine the only problem is i never get to enjoy the crab legs b/c im to busy getting the meat out for my 4 yr old she love shellfish

Well, we do own crackers and whatnot, but in our household, everything has to pass the "jaw test" before equipment is used; the habit comes from my Mum's side of the family, who will use their teeth to try opening any single thing (seafood, nuts, food packets etc) before pulling out the requisite tool. Unless we have guests haha

Yes, I have many crackers and forks. I find they're essential since I love to cook seafood at home.

I barely ever eat seafood at home, so I don't own any seafood tools to eat it with.

Hmm.... I use a sturdy fork and a flick of the wrist to crack my crab... I've never even considered buying tools....

I love crab season! I picked up a couple of crabs and then realized I didn't have the tools, so I went and bought a few key tools; a metal hammer and cracker! So I am always prepared!

Nope, but that won't stop me from cooking it at home. I do have a nutcracker that can second as a crab-cracker. I've never really thought that I needed seafood tools - where there's a will there's a way. :)

I don't cook seafood much, and I don't generally venture beyond salmon. I've never attempted cooking shellfish at home - it's so intimidating! Plus my hubby isn't too fond of seafood, so I just get it when we go out to a restaurant.
