i wish that i liked beans more since I'm a veggie but i don't really. i don't mind most of them - but i know that i don't have a favorite.

Lentils for soup and black-eye peas to eat. Although I HATE shelling black-eyed peas... but you do that growing up on a farm.

Yes, all beans should have been a choice. To ella1978 - fava beans are it's own bean, they are Portuguese (I'm married to one, not the bean a Portuguese man) and they are a lot of work but worth it. Now you can find them canned and they are tasty if you like limas. Happy eating!

So, here is a question. Is a fava bean essentially a large lima bean? I've never seen fava beans, but I have lots of recipes for them. Wondering if I can substitue with lima beans, but not sure how that effects the taste!

Garbanzo beans are technically not beans but peas... They're Chickpeas.
