Yum I have to tell you we stayed in and made your slow cooker short ribs dish and it was DELISH! We used our wedding china for the first time and watched Baz Luhrrman's Romeo and Juliet on TV. It was one of the most romantic nights of my life.

My husband surprised me by taking me to our favorite restaurant for lunch yesterday...not crowded and much less expensive. I confess it is just a simple Chinese restaurant but they serve absolutely delicious food and the prices are easy on our budget. Also, the staff are genuinely nice. We don't usually go to "fancy" restaurants/bistros except when we visit Carmel, CA and go to Jack London Grill. It is not to be missed! :)

We had a great Valentine's Day! Grilled steaks and fresh veggies - I cooked - he cleaned! Ummmm good!

definitely staying in. i can't take the higher prices that restaurants try to run on you on valentine's day. actually, i will be making the chocolate pot recipe found on yumsugar. YAY!

Not a big fan of V-day, and we went out to a fancy dinner a week and a half ago for our anniversary. We'll save the night out for next month .. March 14th is Steak and BJ day! ; )

We are. Its our first one together and we're going to our favorite place, its not "FANCY" like black tie, but its quite nice. Best food in town. I always feel bad going out because he insists on paying, so I've been cooking dinner on n off a lot the past month... we used to only go out.... not good on the $$.

Valentine's day is such a made up holiday, my fiance and I- in the 9 years we've been together- never celebrate it. We believe in loving each other and showing it every day in special ways.

Going out to dinner on Valentine's Day kind of seems like going to a bar on St. Patrick's Day: too much hoopla, overpriced goods, and a crowd of obnoxious amateurs in the periphery! :P We'll make something at home, and maybe go out the next weekend. I think I might make the Broiled Shrimp Cocktail again - that is a great dish, with a big salad and some champagne. Yummy!

We have learned from experience not to go out to eat on V-Day. Instead, we call in an order to a take-out place and have a romantic dinner at home.

AmberHoney, I'm with you. That's why I'm staying in. But if we had the funds to go out, I'd want to go to Cyrus in Napa, because it's supposed to be ultraromantic.
