Pumpernickel
Similar to rye bread, pumpernickel is a type of bread that is dark in color with a slightly sour taste. It's usually made of rye flour with a small amount of wheat flour - molasses is sometimes added to add both flavor and color. Pumpernickel is a heavy sourdough bread with German origins and extreme density.

YUM. Pumpernickel is the bomb (I almost just said bizzomb, don't be mad, I refrained). Quick and tasty and classy appetizer recipe: - Pumpernickel bread cut into small triangles - Delicious cream cheese (I prefer chive/scallion but you can use plain) - Good lox - A sweet onion shredded very finely (not diced! cut into super fine half moon shapes like you would for french onion soup and then cut in half) - tiny triangles of tomato, drained - salt, pepper, garlic powder spread cream cheese over the bread. add a taste of lox and a shred of onion and a tiny tomato triangle. repeat until you have enough for your party. add salt, pepper, and a small bit of garlic powder, garnish your tray with curly parsley, and serve!
