Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we are once again entering the land of the weird. Actually, scratch that, make it we are entering the world of ridiculous marketing efforts. This time, in an effort to appeal to your health-conscious selves, the folks at Smirnoff have created a beverage that plays on your desires to drink something healthy.
The beverage, which is low in alcohol content, is the first malt beverage to contain pure spring water and malt-based alcohol. I guess this means your water will now dehydrate you?
Has anyone tried it, what do you think? Is it a nice alternative or is it just a gimmick?

Wow. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. This product sounds like an alcoholic's dream. It just seems like a ploy to make excessive drinking acceptable by mixing "spring water" and vodka. And how hard is it to water down your own liquor?
There's nothing better than spiked water after a run.
That being said... The commercial is kind of nifty. I'm sure some fools will buy into the hype.
1It's watered down, and I bet it costs more. What a rip off!
2My husband and I saw this in the grocery store when we were looking for iced tea. They had it displayed by the vitamin water. We gawked, then sputtered, then walked away looking confused. I even glanced back to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Worst idea ever.
3I don't get it. Is it meant to be a healthier alternative to other mixed alcoholic beverages when you're out at a club or bar, or are you meant to drink it as a replacement for normal bottled water?
Either way, it sounds ridiculous!
4This product is stupid. It costs about $2.00 more than other malt beverages here. It actually has become a running joke among my friends.
5Just stupid.
6Best Week Ever actually made a spoof on alcohol water calling it "Adequite" after Lindsay Lohan's favorite word. and then all of a sudden, Smirnoff comes out with something similar to BWE's joke. It was a joke, Smirnoff!!!
7This is just crazy. I hope this doesn't last long. I will not be trying it.
8It actually tastes really good....
9Much easier to mix your own water and alcohol if you really desire to do so...
10I don't get it. If you want water, drink water. If you want alcohol, drink alcohol. Where are people going to drink this? At the gym?
11i tried it one night and it was nasty. it was supposed to have a 'touch' of citrus, however tasted like a bad soda.
12I'm still trying to figure this out.
13I'm sooooo confused!
14i agree with minnie, can't you just mix your own water and alcohol?? or wait for the ice to melt in a something on the rocks?
15really I just don't get it
16I would love to see someone try to drink this at the gym!
17Is this really a fair question? If so, the answer is yes!
18i'm confused like the rest of you... is it literally just water + vokda? WHY?! why would you do that?
is it flavored water + vodka? cause ew, just mix it with gatorade or vita water... freaks.
but the commercial was mesmorizing!
19this is the STUPIDEST thing i have ever seen
20I think it's just another marketing ploy to appeal to younger drinkers, even though Smirnoff would never admit it. If they make it seem less like alcohol and more like water, then it's 'harmless,' right? They suck.
21I think they are delicious, and they arent expensive.
22First of all I don't drink so this is coming from a non-consumers perspective, but I can see the possible appeal.
What makes it any different than a rum & coke or something along those lines? It's just premixed. And if someone wants something alcoholic but they don't want the extra calories of pop or something, I can imagine this might be an OK alternative. Especially for outdoor kind of parties where something in a bottle is convenient.
23my boyfriend and i saw it a while ago on the shelves and had a good laugh about it...walked by it a couple more times and always giggled...and then decided we had to try it. i mean, come on, water and alcohol, right? but then we tried it and it is actually delicious! not something i'd certainly buy everyday but it tastes a lot like vodka and sprite and was super refreshing.
24I'm still not entirely sure I understand this. Has Smirnoff made an attempt to cut out the need to buy mixers? Or is this an attempt to jump on the healthy living bandwagon and make more money?
25I'll water down my own vodka, thank you.
26Uhhhhhh. So weird.
27I think it's a hoot! Healthy drinking! LOL
28I have had it. Its good but you'd have to have alot just to get a buzz.
29Are you serious???? Imagine all the alkees trying to get healthy ! LOL...wonder if I could get away w/ drinking it at work??? yea right!
