Kitchen Goddess group creator Twinkle, recently mentioned how trendy horizontal kitchens have become in her neck of the woods. Although she likes the way they look, she wonders about their practicality. She also wonders what you think of them. So do tell, do you love the idea or hate it?

I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to styling my home. This has the cool edgy modern feel that I just wouldn't want in my kitchen. I'd be too intimidated to walk into it. and even if I did, I'm sure I'd be exasperated attempting to find what I wanted in all of those drawers

it looks cool, I'd put a big table behind me though so I'd have a place to set stuff while cooking.

I would kill myself if I had to work in this teeny kitchen. No room for prep work, or anything, it seems.

I don't understand how anyone serious about intense cooking could possible find this practical. My husband and I are in the market for a new home and this kitchen trend has hit my area too and because of the set up I have crossed off some of the prospects just because the kitchen was just not functional. Sorry guys...this one ain't workin for me.

I don't think it would work that well. Look at the stove it's tiny!

For urban condos and lofts, it's a great option. So much better than awful galley kitchens you find in a lot of condos. They are small and cramped. This look allows you to open up your small space and make the kitchen more spacious by making part of the living room, but also looks good and blends in with your living space. Not for people with traditional homes but great for city dwellers.

It does depend on the house/apartment, but I really like galley style kitchens.

i don't like them - where is the counter space? i don't want to solely face a wall when i cook so this wouldn't be ideal for me. i don't have much of a choice until i get my own house though.

I like a kitchen that is set up nicely for entertaining while cooking. This one would not be too good for that, but very nice for a tiny apartment.

i don't think it's efficient at all. where's the counter space? i guess i'm just used to my big kitchen.

I like it but I'm not sure how efficient it is when cooking. Probably a great space saver though?

i live on campus at school and that is what our kitchens are like. everything is horizontal and against the wall. i guess it is very space efficient...but it doesnt leave much room for counter space...especially when cooking more elaborate meals.

I guess if that's how the room is set up? But personally, I don't know many houses or apartments that give that much space for a kitchen. I mean, you'd have to take everything out and redo it. Not for me. I'll work with the space and set-up that I'm given.

The look is cool. In reality though, where would you put your stuff? Seriously, if you actually cook, there's no place to put all your kitchen gadgetry! Let alone food...

i like it, but i agree a kitchen should be cozy, but not too small where it'll only fit like 1 person.

I think it's beautiful, in a modern loft. But for my own home, not so much. A kitchen should be cozy most times, but like I said if your whole place is modern and sleek then this is pretty cool.
