In 2008, Food Network chef and host Robert Irvine sure had a roller coaster of a year. And his ride's not over quite yet: He's back and ready to return to the set of Dinner: Impossible.
According to the network, in the newest season of D:I, which premieres April 8, Irvine faces some of his most unique predicaments thus far. Now, more so than ever, he'll be forced to think creatively under great pressures and time limits. In the first challenge, Irvine must act under severe outdoor conditions to put together an extreme menu for athletes at the Winter X Games. In another challenge, the chef visits Yahoo's headquarters and faces a curve ball to cook with top-searched ingredients.
I think Food Network made the right decision in bringing back Irvine, and I'm pumped to see the ex-military chef bust his chops again in a new season of the show. Will you be tuning in?

Temperley London
Yes. I'm glad he's back.
1No, he creeps me out. I don't even know why. Maybe his neck scares me.
2Heck yes! I love Robert!
3I'm happy he's back. I didn't understand why he was gone in the first place.
4I prefer the show with him, hands down.
Can't stand him - or this show regardless of the chef.
5Thank goodness! I missed Robert in this show. It just wasn't the same with Chef Symon, who's a great Iron Chef but doesn't have the flair of Robert Irvine.
6I'm glad he's back I will start watching again.
7Yippie! I don't care if he falsified his resume, I'm glad he's back. I quit watching DI when Symon took over.
8Same here Starangel...looking forward to see those "guns" preparing the food again
9OoOooo I want to see the Winter X Games one!
10Watched an episode last night with him in it. Dunno if it was new or not, it was the quincenra ep in Puerto Rico. That Dad was less help than anything. Blah.
But the show wasn't the same with Symon, who's personable and such. The briskness and almost condscending way Irvine handles the show makes it for me. LOL.
11I prefer Michael Symon.
12I like Irvine WAY better than Symon on D:I.
13Yes, I read all the negative stuff about Robert but if you are looking for someone who wouldn't try to make himself look better on a resume then look for someone with scars on their hands and feet because He is the only perfect one!
14Robert is wonderful and I jumped right out of my chair when I saw he was coming back!
i think that he's better suited for the show than symon was - as much as i like michael. in any event, i feel like he didn't do anything that half a million folks don't do all the time - pumping up their resumes and all that. he's repentant enough and he's really making amends and i'm sure that the show will go up in ratings now that he's back.
15I don't think Robert should be given this second chance, no other employer would. I've heard that a lot of the food he even prepares is awful as well. Michael Symon is the clear choice for this and is able to work better with other people and not to "force" being nice to others as well.
16My husband and I love Robert and his show, he has so much class and a excellent chef. We are
17so happy that he's coming back. He's the best!
HELL yes i will watch,Robert is the man, he admitted he made a mistake and he moved on! The show was never the same with simon and i refused to watch it! I pumped and ready for April 8th...
18@Rulother - You must not be a very judge of character, because Irvine obviously made the show. That other little douchebag with his revenge of the nerds laugh totally sucked at D:I and Iron Chef! Do you even watch the Food Network? The AltDouche Symon couldn't even finish half his challenges! I quit wathing D:I because Irvine left the show, and apparently a lot of other people did the same. Welcome Back Irvine!!
19YIPPY!!! so excited to hear that Robert is coming back. Stopped watching after they fired him and Michael Symone was not that great. Very happy to hear Robert is coming back now maybe the show will have some excitement in it again
20Glad to see Chef Irvine back. Never thought much of Symon. As far as whether he deserves a second chance, a lot of political hacks, university presidents and such, never lose their jobs after identical offenses and this is entertainment. It appears that Irvine sells and Symon doesn't. Smart business move.
21I am so glad that Robert is coming back! I stopped watching it when he left, I tried watching the other guy once but it was not the same. I will start watching again, I can't wait for April 8th.
22If I hadn't had lots of second chances, I would be one sorry mess. If RI hadn't been so good on DI, believe me, he wouldn't be back. He was, though, and I'm sure he will be again. I do like him. I like Michael Symon, too, in spite of his high-pitched giggle.
23Heck yes, I'm watching! Absolutely the right decision. MI was my favorite FN show. Love Irvine and although Symon is a good guy, he's no Robert Irvine. Glad that Food Network heard from enough of his fans to consider this...
Setting my TIVO as we speak! woohoo!
24I hate Liars and cheats with a vengeance. Sends the message that even if you refuse to play by the rules and even if you get caught you are rewarded. Not only am I not going to tune in when I see products that are related to him I will refuse to buy.
I hope he has a catastrophic knife injury that eliminates all of his ill gotten gains.

Robert is the best chef for Dinner Impossible. There is not another chef that could pull this off as well as he does . God Bless keep it coming. thanks for the entertainment, Sincerely Barbara Howard
26glad to see the fn gave him another chance. he is the right man for the job god is forgiving why cant we be.
27I guess I can start watching again. The show wasn't the same without him!
28It appears that anyone can lie about their credentials and get the job... Just look at Obama.
They should not have had him come back. He is a liar and a fraud, end of story.
29i think he's a bit of a dick, but some how he and the show worked, so, yes, i'm glad he's back.
30Wow Robert is BACK!!! wooooowhooooooo i haven't watched food network since they let him go , i was so upset , about this . an i wrote food network an everything . an he is back!! i am so excited i will be tuned into watch wed. i can't wait. !!
31YES!! WOOOO HOOO I can finally watch the show again. ROBERT IS BACK and i hope to stay. Symon bored me to tears and he whined like a new puppy about every assignment. Thank you Food Network for bringing Robert Irvine back.
32Robert Irvine and Dinner Impossible go together like bread and butter. Was meant to be. So glad he is back, stopped watching it with Simon because it was boring. With Robert it never got boring.
Welcome back Robert & Thank You Food Network & fans for bringing Robert back!!
33Yes! I'm so glad Irvine is back! This is HIS SHOW. He should have never been fired for that little resume error. He wasn't hired based on his resume, so he shouldn't be fired by it either. Either way, I'm glad to see Food Network and Chef Irvine have made amends. Symon was just not the same. Irvine has a certain charisma that he brings to every challenge.
I am stoked to see you back, Chef Irvine! I am so looking forward to the new season!
34I quit watching when Simon took over. The show just wasn't the same. I can't wait to start watching again. Robert is hands down better.
35YAYE, LOVE HIM!!!!! Read his BIO on Food Network, it verifys his work in London with the Queen, and the U.S. as a Presidential Chef. No, I'm not his spokesperson I just thought he got shafted. LOVE HIM!
36I am so glad he is back!!!!!!!!!
I saw the promos & i couldnt believe my eyes!
He has the personality & creativity and yeah hes kind of a douche but he makes the show exciting!
Did you see him in a skirt that one episode?? He has a sense of humor!!
Robert irvine is Dinner impossible.
BTW, the pr episode was an old one.
Cant say much about symon I stopped watching!
37I'm glad to see Chef Irvine back. I really didn't watch the show after he left, but will be sure to tune in now. As far as the whole resume situation, he may have exaggerated a bit on his experiences, but you can't take away the fact that this guy can cook and do it well. How many challenges did he "pass" on the show? Most from what I've seen. So lets let the past be the past and go on with a great show from here!
38Just happened to tune in the Food Network and saw that Robert Irvine was back.
39YES!
He may have embellished his resume but he oblivously had the skill, experience and mettle to do the job so he's not fraud. It's probably why he's been forgiven because he proves he's up to whatever task is thrown at him.
So... BRING IT!
I don't think he "faked" his resume', I think that it was embellished. Food Network should have thought about this one a little harder before they jumped the gun and fired Robert. Robert is the only one that can do this show and it was a huge success. TV is all about smoke and mirrors, all they had to do was change the intro, give a little giggle and move on. This is TV, you know, with networks showing "scripted" reality tv shows. Give me a break!
