Savory Sight: Pumpkin Cake

I'd almost (key word: almost) forgotten about Party's unbelievable pumpkin cake with pecan brittle and whipped cream cheese frosting when I received a private message from TeamSugar member BisouBisou with jaw-dropping photos of her own rendition, which she made for Thanksgiving as a dessert. Seeing the exquisite cake and the lush photography made me fall in love with the cake all over again. Isn't it amazing how images can do such a thing? I love any type of dessert that has pumpkin in it. My twin sister made some pumpkin oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and it was delicious. This pumpkin cake looks yummy. If I had the time to make one I would.

I made it TDAy as well! Everyone complimented me on the cake it was Delicious and looked beautiful. first cake I ever made was really impressed with it. Will make it again!

I made it for Tday too! Changed the recipe a little though. The filling was a chestnut mousse and I used my italian buttercream (from the freezer) for the frosting. Served with homemeade maple ice cream... insta-diabetes. But sooooooo good.

I made this cake as well...it was delicious and this rendition looks great! I did however have an issue with the pecan brittle. Even after I broke it up it seemed like it would be very hard on people's teeth(esp. grandmas with dentures...), so I ran it through my food processor and made it into a powder. It still tasted awesome and looked pretty. I finished it off with whole pecans in a design on the top of the cake!
