In Search of an Affordable Waffle Maker

Listen up readers, nikks needs our help. She recently posted a question to the YumSugar Community inquiring about waffle makers. She asks, "Does anyone know a good waffle maker that's not over 100 bucks? I want to make liege waffles." Liege waffles are a type of Belgian waffle with a richer and denser texture and sweeter taste. Since I don't own a waffle maker, I'm wondering: Do you have any affordable waffle maker suggestions? Or tips for making scrumptious waffles? Please share with us below!

Sounds crazy, but check out eBay and thrift stores for old ones. I am not the type to buy secondhand things, but I have an old waffle maker that's at least 20 years old, I'm thinking it's from the 70's or 80's actually, and it's amazing. It makes the most perfect waffles and has lasted this long through my family of 6. It's Toastmaster brand. I got a great waffle iron for some holiday or another awhile back, but I seriously like NEVER use it! If you find one and get some fun ideas, please share and post! I would love some more ideas. I always end up defaulting to pancakes instead

I got my waffle maker at Macy's for only $30. It was half-off. They are always running great sales and I've seen some there for around the same price since. I would definitely suggest keeping a look out for some sales, especially at some of the department stores that may have trouble clearing out their inventory without one.

My friend registered for this one for her wedding: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TYBWIG/ref=oss_product I bought it for her as a bridal shower gift, and I've since been her houseguest and we used it to make breakfast. The waffles were very tasty, cooked well, etc. And it has a timer on it! Current price on Amazon is about $40.
