Simple Syrup: Do You Buy It or Make It?

If you can boil water, then you can make simple syrup, the sugar-and-water sweetener used to add flavor to drinks and desserts. Still, a shocking number of people that I know are willing to fork over good money to buy it ready-to-use. What do you prefer to do?
