Spaghetti Shallow Plates: Love It or Hate It?

I came across these spaghetti shallow plates ($12) and thought they were pretty fun. They're like a cross between a plate and a bowl, only with a small crater in the middle where you can twirl your spaghetti. I think it's pretty clever, and could be useful at a party. What do you think? Would you want to use these plates?

haha...those are cool! but in my family, we would use them to put sauce in like soy sauce or fish sauce with the rice and the meat around it...my mom would like it.

Their all right...I really don't get that moved over dinnerware...unless it's nice china by kate spade or something.

I agree with Limelindsey - seriously?? How often do people eat plates of pasta standing up with one hand? Many times when I go to a dinner party, we sit down when we dine. So if there's pasta, one could swirl the pasta into a spoon with a fork (using two hands). Besides, those plates are ugly.

Love em and need them. Like others I have a hard time with thin pastas (hubby loves them) they're messy to eat especially in public; I try to twirl, cut with knife, etc. and never get it quite right. I so love linguine and clams but it usually messes up my makeup. Also like the pot sticker idea.

They look cool, but for me they fall under that category of "only one use" - like the guacamole masher (seriously?) when all you really need is a potato masher or a fork. I need for stuff to do more because frankly, my kitchen is not large.

i'm undecided. i like the concept of a shallow bowl for the pasta -but i think that the crater in the middle would annoy me. i don't always twirl my pasta in the same place - so it would probably get in the way a bit.

How do you eat it if you don't twirl it to get it around your fork? I use my knife against my fork to get it without being messy, and I don't like single or limited use stuff, so nah.
