Yesterday, this cake was delivered for Suri Cruise's 2nd birthday. The perfectly springtime cake was created by a local specialty shop and is reported — but not confirmed — to have cost $5,000. So tell me, what do you think of this birthday creation?

Dune
it's not the most attractive cake, but how can you "hate" a two-year old's birthday treat? LOL...that just seems heartless
1Love. Although instead of green, I would have used a darker yet stille bright yellow shade or maybe a soft shade of orange.
2I think its adorable.
3Give me a break~~~
4$5000. for a CAKE - it's cute, but c'mon.
5ditto that cupcake345! $5000! i could buy my boy six months daycare with that!
6$5000 is almost a year's rent for me.
Birthday bash extravaganzas for two year olds are really more for the parents than for the kid, anyway. The kid would have been happy with a cupcake and some shiny ribbons to play with.
Money is so wasted on the wealthy.
7Its cute but not that special.
8i think that $5,000 is a false report for the price of this cake. I would guess it was more in the range of $2,500. Obviously still insane!
9it's very cute but obviously overdone and too extravagant- but I would probably do the same if I could just throw money around like that.
10it seems a bit much for a two year old's birthday but the Cruises do live a higher lifestyle than the rest of us. it is a very cute cake. if i had a as much money as they do and were throwing a huge party with people like will and jada smith - i would go all out. i think its all relative to your lifestyle and what you could afford. i personnaly would have just baked a betty crocker special.
11Very cute
12Closing my eyes and pretending I didn't read the pricetag, that's an adorable cake for a two-year-old.
13Cute but I think she would have liked to make her cake with mommy!I can't believe 2000.00 on a cake! You could feed alot of homeless two year olds with that money! Hollywood and its excesses ....
14$5000 for a kiddie cake. I don't think so.
15I can really see a 2 year old chewing on fondant. What a waste of money.
16Cute but not worth $5000.
17That's utterly ridiculous. I would *never* spend that amount of money on a cake, even if I was Tom Cruise rich.
18My own wedding cake didn't even cost nearly as much as that cake!
It's just so silly what the filthy rich will waste their money on.
It's as adorable as she is!
19love it, though definitely not worth $5,000. But when you're Tom Cruise, I guess you have to find something to spend all that money on...
20It is very cute and at least its not a crazy over done with swirls and all the other bells and whistles other people could have thrown on it.
21i love the coloring and the polka dots but i'm just not a butterfly girl. and it seems a little much for a two year old's party. kids aren't going to eat fondant, it tastes terrible!!!
22that is NOT a kids cake. why spend that much when in a few month's they aren't going to remember it anyways??
23It's adorable and really fits for a little girl's birthday.
24I put undecided because I love the cake, BUT it is really excessive for a 2 year old, and also, it isn't THAT special that it should have cost $5000! I know lots of talented pastry artists who could have done just as good a job if not better for a tiny fraction of that price.
25The cake is beautiful, but definitely very excessive -- not to mention EXPENSIVE to spend on a two year old. It's not like she's going to care what the cake looks like, she just wants to eat it! I think a cake is always more special when it's homemade, especially when some thought and creativity is put into it!
26It looks like a wedding cake, not a birthday cake...albeit a very brightly colored, childish one. I think $5000 is excessive, even for a celebrity family hosting some large party. It's quite apparent that the party is more for the parents than for little Suri.
27its very cute
28however,
im sure she would've been happier with a disney princess cake or a dora the explorer cake or something
but hey , maybe the 2 year old has expensive taste, u never know
I really think the price is false. But shoot, if they want to spend their money on a cake then let them be. We can't compare our lifestyles to theirs. I'm sure the artist put her profit to better use anyway.
29Very cute, but my mom could do that in her bakery and charge more like $300-400. $5k is NUTS!
30Also, they used fondant on a toddler's cake? She and the other tykes are going to hate the taste!
31way too expensive i mean c'mon when she will not remember this b day shes is 2, shes not like turning 16 or something special!!
32wow... id be pissed if i spent that much on a cake and it looked like that. The butterflies are so cheap looking.
33Different colors would be better. I don't like yellow and the green is a little off.
34Meh, the cake is ah-ight. Definitely not worth the price tag.
35cute, but not worth it. they only paid that much b/c they're in hollywood.
36$5,000 for THAT cake? I think not. It even looks a bit crooked.
37I thought it was cute until I saw the cost
38It seems a little much for a 2 year old's birthday. Plus, I agree with a few posters above about the colors and that it is a little crooked.
39meh, its cute but Ive seen cuter
40It's very cute.
41I wouldn't pay $5,000 for it!
Love it.
42The combined colors definitely have a summer appeal to it and it looks playful, especially for a cute two-year-old like Suri!
Never mind about the price tag..they have the money so why not use it? It's for their loved one, not just for anyone else.
Ridiculous and it's crooked.
43It's looks more like a wedding cake... I would probably buy something more colorful, fun, and kid-themed. For $5,000, the cake should cut itself!
The ultra modern style is cool, but what happened to Winnie the Pooh
or Mickey Mouse cakes?
44Adorable cake, but really? $5000 for a kid's birthday cake? That's just ridiculous.
45I chose undecided because it's cute but not $5,000 cute. I could probably create that in my kitchen for a lot less. If Katie spent more time at home and less being brainwashed she could have made that herself.
46I looks like a very kitschy wedding cake!
47I can't imagine presenting my child with a cake anything like that. Whatever happened to Winnie the Pooh or Oscar the Grouch cakes? She's a KID.
Whatever happened to Mom baking a cake for her child? But they probably had 200 people, so alright. The cake is cute, but I just can't wrap my head around $5,000.
48it probably has zenus remains baked in thats why it was 5000
49Adorable but definitely not for the money. It is perfect in its design for a two year old - who wouldn't appreciate anything elaborate. Also, surprisingly not ridiculously girly.
