Take Out Martini Glasses: Love It or Hate It?

A little while back, Yum featured a set of tea cup champagne glasses. This week I found these take out martini glasses that seem to continue the concept. The top half of the glass is a ceramic version of a classic Dixie cup and the bottom half is your typical martini glass stem. I'm a huge fan of mixing high and low, but this deconstructed version is too much for me and I absolutely hate them. What do you guys think?

I think they are more ironic and even more clever than the tea cup ones. I actually own the whole set (other styles are different from the one shown here).

I agree with the suggestion of using them for ice cream instead... I wouldn't buy them though, not really a fan.

I don't know about useing them for martinis, btu how about for a kitchy ice cream sunday thing? It could be cute.

I'm not quite up to hating it because i love the dixie cup part (the color combination on the white, simple shape). A shame they're not just selling that.

I hate these. It may sound strange, but my true mark of good looking martini glasses (and other cocktail glasses for that matter) are whether or not they could also be used to serve fabulous looking desserts and parfaits for dinner parties and holidays. Not being see-thru on top definitely hurts their cause in my book. Even tho' I love martinis, I think it is so fun and unexpected to be served a beautifully simple pudding and angel food cake and fresh fruit parfait in a pretty martini glass... plus it limits the serving size so you don't need to worry about a ton of calories or running out of dessert for your guests.
