New York's most popular low-calorie, ice-cream alternative, Tasti D-Lite, has announced plans for international expansion. James Amos, the owner of Tasti D-Lite, which was featured on Sex and the City, told the Wall Street Journal about the brand's growth:
Two Tasti D-Lite stores opened this month in Seoul; expansion into Israel and Mexico is in negotiation. Late last month, Tasti D-Lite signed franchising deals for a minimum of 16 stores in Tennessee and at least 40 in Texas, including San Antonio, Austin, and Houston. It is working on expanding into California and adding to the seven stores already in New Jersey. Next month, Tasti D-Lite plans to open two flagship stores in New York, including one on the ground floor of the Empire State Building.
The chain offers over 100 flavors and has developed a cult-like following among New Yorkers. As Pinkberry and Red Mango continue to open stores across the US, it's no surprise that Tasti D-Lite is following suit. Have you had Tasti D-lite? Are you excited the chain may be coming to a location near you?

Whistles
This is so strange, Tasti-D always struck me as on its way out. Look at the electric sign! Not to mention, it tastes like nothing after the second or third spoonful.
1Like so many women of NYC, I am completely hooked on Tasti-D. I am *thrilled* at the prospect of being able to enjoy it in the Bay Area!!
2So glad it's coming to Houston- I haven't had it but I love Red Mango!
3I live in New York and I avoid Tasti-D like the plague because I actually like my desserts with FLAVOR.
4I absolutely LOVE Tasti-D! It satisfies my ice cream craving that comes oh so often.
5Sorry nothing can replace Ben & Jerry's. I'm sticking to the real thing.
6I had Tasti-D once in Miami . . . I liked it OK but was a little put off by the fact that my "peanut butter" ice cream stuff was greenish.
7I prefer TCBY which is actual frozen yogurt, not an imitation of ice cream.
8I LOVE Tasti- D even thought the flavors never taste like what they should, but it's kind of like subway where everything they sell has it's distinctive taste hah.
9What? Nashville, TN is getting something before others! Wow! I'm shocked!
I will be curious to try it, but I have a special place in my heart already for a fro-yo place here in town. Who knows, I may begin to like Tasti-D better!
10i guess it's one of the novelities about living in NYC - that i've had this treat for a while and when i moved away i was missing it. a lot of people aren't into the flavor since they think that it's not necessarily the same type of thing as ice cream, but in the summer when you want a low cal treat - it's perfect. i hope that everyone else gets to try it soon!
11Oooh, I hope they come to Chattanooga, TN! I've been wanting to try Tasti-D.
12Tasti-D gives me the worst stomach pains...too many chemicals!
13I've never had Tasti D-Lite but like most women my age, I've heard about it through Sex and the City and want to try it. Too bad it's not coming to LA!
14There are no Tasty D-lites around here
Hopefully that will change soon!
15Just found out I get to try Red Mango when I go to Vegas next week. It's across from the Hard Rock. YES!
16it would be awesome to get married by one of (what i consider) the queens of comedy! i think it would be a great wedding! you would be having so much fun, and everyone would be laughing! and besides, when is D-List coming back on?sexy lingerie sexy costumes bedroom furniture
