My New Years Fitness Resolution is to incorporate more activity in my daily life. I don't have a pounds loss goal, but I do want to improve my fitness level, become more flexible as well.

I'm older now, but I've always been larger than all the other kids. It never used to bother me, but now I'm older, It's starting to affect me. I'm not losing weight for all those people that looked down on me, I'm not doing it for those that just ignored me, or those that decided I wasn't worth their time. I'm doing it for me, because I've decided I've had enough. I want to be able to fit into the size 8 dress, I want to be able to wear a bikini on the beach. I want to be me. I want to have the confidence I used to have as a little kid. I want to be able to walk into a room, without worrying if they've been talking about me. I want to be able to talk in public. So that's why I'm doing this. My goal is to go from 130 pounds, and a size 12, to 90 pounds and a size 8. I want to go out with my friends and not have people stare at me, because I am a lot bigger than them. I want to fit into "that dress" that will always stay at the back of my wardrobe, unless I change. Before I discovered this site, I would lose a few pounds but it never stayed off. I'd try to eat well, but one thing lead to another and soon I put those pounds back on and more. I'm hoping that I can keep myself motivated enough to do this. I want to do this for me.

My goal for 2010 is to get back to boxing at least 2 times a week. A little over a year ago, I was dreaming of entering the NY Golden Gloves. Then I got fired from my job, entered grad school, and got a new job where I work harder than I ever have. The only way I can live the lifestyle I need to, I need the intense bursts of activity to achieve balance.

My goal this year is to continue from last year's unintentional success. My husband and I started preparing all of our meals at home, due to economic woes, despite hectic schedules. Honestly it was amazing, we were both shedding pounds even though we weren't cooking the healthiest of meals! We realized at that point how bad eating out was for us. This year we want to make time for toning and the much needed cardio stress reliever!

Eat more fruits and veggies, cut back on sweets and salty snacks, drink more water and less diet coke (this one is a real toughie for me!), get in 30 minutes of cardio everyday and do some strength training every other day. Also, to do some meditation before I go to bed every night to help my mind let go of the negative thoughts and anxiety that keep me up.

to start running! I have never been able to run more than 1/4 mile, so I have started a treadmill running program and will hopefully be able to run at least a mile without gasping for air!

I've already committed to working out with a trainer three times a week but the more difficult goal is to get to the gym on my own and work out. I hope to get into a routine I can do by myself before my training sessions end! The addition of a work out program I could do at home would be a HUGE benefit to me!
