I just learned that my favorite little egglings have three new varieties: spicy red pepper, lavender and wild strawberries. Egglings, for those of you that don't know, look and feel like a large egg, but are really a ceramic container that you crack open, water and voila! You've got a plant that will grow for about five months before having to be planted in the soil. Available in basil, mint, phlox (a flowering plant), petunia, chrysanthemum, and now spicy red pepper, lavender and wild strawberries. The cost is $9.50 each.

We got the boys some of these at Lowe's for $2. I love the little pots like that, because it's easy and fun for the kids to take care of. We also have some plants in little pots (watermelon starter kits) and can flowers (they're small cans that open and are similar to a soda can except the entire top comes off). The kids LOVE them and enjoy watching their plants grow.
1so cute! That pincushion plant in the packground is cute too, but does it come in an eggshell?
2These egglings are too cute! What a fun way to start a little garden.
3These are really cute.
You know you can plant seeds in your own egg shell halves and when the plant sprouts, you plant the entire egg shell and will fertilize the soil around your little seedling.
4*gasp* sooooo cute, i love these, im gonna make one!
