Top Chef 6 Location Revealed: Las Vegas

At this very moment in Los Angeles, NBC is hosting a press conference for its reality TV shows. While the upcoming Top Chef Masters was discussed, the most exciting information comes from a tweet by Kate Aurthur of the Los Angeles Times:

Confirmed: The next season of Top Chef will take place in Las Vegas and will begin filming next week.

There's been much speculation that Vegas might be the setting for season 6, but earlier this week when we wondered where the culinary competition would take place, most of you hoped it would be New Orleans. However, I'm thrilled that the show will be filmed in Sin City. What do you think of the news?

Vegas has grown so much in the past few years. There are restaurants by world famous chef's adn this swoh will shine a much needed light on Vegas...and hopefully bring people back to sin city. I wonder if we will see Colicchio's Craftsteak featured (he has the best Bone-in Strip and amazing myukon smashed). Bartolotta (featured on Bravo by samamtha Brown - I was there fro the filming - she is stunning). Boulud, Keller, Ducase, Robuchon, Mina, RM, hope they feature Lotus of Siam (local thai)... Awesome place, amazing restaurants and will be amazing show.

Vegas has great restaurants no doubt. But they're all restaurants from somewhere else. There's no regional cuisine that makes it unique from other restaurant cities. For that reason I'm disappointed.

Was at the Wynn last weekend. I saw the cast and crew filming at Daniel Boulud.

FABULOUS - Vegas and Top Chef. Hubby and I go to Vegas just to eat :drool: at least twice a year and always hoping for more chances.

i'm not surprised that it's LV and i think that there's a lot of great challenges that they could get from the city. i wonder if we'll get a lot of cameos from past chefs since we know that a few of them work there

YAY! I live in Vegas and couldn't be more thrilled. A lot of people don't realize just how many wonderful restaurants we have in town, both on and off the strip. Lots of great opportunities for fun challenges and learing experiences for the Chefs. Hmmm...now if I could figure out where they are staying and start planning my stalking... j/k :)

I agree with Aimeeb. Just sounds like a set-up to amp up the annoying, unnecessary, non-cooking-related Drama. *Sigh*
