I saw this one on the Food Network, along with the last What Is This item...it works, but it takes a lot of effort. It would probably break after a few uses, though.

I abide by the Alton Brown approach...keep the uni-taskers to a minimum. This wouldn't even fit in a kitchen drawer. Pass!

I'll pass ... looks like it wouldn't do that great of a job unless the melon was wayyyy too ripe/soft. Yuck.

Wouldn't work very well on a watermelon.
