Wow. I never realized that people put so many different things in mashed potatoes. I like milk, butter, garlic and salt. I sometimes use chicken stock instead of the milk.
I make the best baked potatoes ever!!! I mix butter, sour cream, cream cheese, shredded cheese, and sometimes pepper and seasoned salt. I am nowhere near a potato purist! haha
For the holidays, I keep in simple with just cream and butter. Homemade gravy and simple mashed potatoes is the perfect combo: no help needed. But when it's just me, I throw whatever I have in.
