My husband was born in India and we always go for Indian Buffet on Thanksgiving. The restaurant is full of people so glad to be together and the tables are filled with Sambar, Dosae, Tikka Masala, and Panir Panir Panir! the whole country is represented with the cuisine you'll find there. this is going to be our third thanksgiving there. (note: we also do this for christmas!) while i miss my family back east on holidays, the ease of this holiday makes it a little less hard.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday and it is nice to see how much everyone appreciates it!Sometimes I think it is brushed aside by the retailers and that is sad!! It has always been my favorite!

Mashed potatoes WITH corn(yes, mixed together) and of course some apple cinnamon pie. And french silk. We allllllways have that!

I do love all of the above - but, my absolute favorite is my mom's mashed sweet potatoes w/a brown sugar, butte and pecan crumble topping. By August, I start looking forward to thanksgiving for the sweet potatoes!!! Also, she makes a fabulous cranberry sauce with Grand Marnier  -oh so good!!

I'm Filipino, so definitely my mom will be cooking some traditional Filipino cuisines alongside the turkey. Pancit Palabok is similar to chow mein and pad thai, but the sauce has a thicker consistency. It also has shrimp, chicken, and eggs. It's my favorite, and she only cooks it for special occasions.

Cranberries!!! My dad makes the best cranberries, I hate the canned stuff, I was actually 20 the first time I ever had the canned stuff. A friend of mine made Thanksgiving in July one year and had it, everyone was amazed that I had never had the canned junk before.

Dessert!!! My mom is coming to stay with me for Thanksgiving this year and we are making three - the classic Pecan Pie, my all time fav - Cranberry-Apple-Walnut, and her new receipe a Pumpkin Mousse that is low fat! It will be my first Thanksgiving being the hostess and I can't wait. I am ready to set the table!
