Let's Dish: What's Your Favorite Kind of Pie?

This Summer, I'm in a pie state of mind: I've been making at least one pie a month and show no signs of stopping! Lately, I've been tackling fruit pies, like peach and blueberry, but perhaps the time is right for me to move on to cream and custard pies? There are countless pie recipes out there, but if I had to choose one type of pie to be my favorite, I would select key lime pie. It's cool, it's creamy, it's divine. Second runner up? Banana cream pie. Classic cherry pie is third! How about you? What is your preferred pie?

My favorite is the Baltimore Bomb from Dangerously Delicious Pies (originally in Baltimore, now also in DC). DDP also makes a pie called Full Custom Custard that's excellent. In terms of generally available pies, I love chess pies, particularly chocolate peanut butter chess and chocolate coconut chess. I also love pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie. In terms of fruit pie, I love cherry. Again, DDP makes a good one called the Marion Berry Pie, made with marion berries and topped with rock candy. And, I swear I don't work for Dangerously Delicious Pies, but they make an excellent Steak, Mushroom, Onion, and Gruyere savory pie. I've only had it twice, but I swear I had dreams about it for weeks after I first had it. So yeah, basically I like almost all pies and I am not ashamed to admit it. I hope pie kind of becomes the new cupcakes!

My grandpa always used to say he only liked two kinds of pie- hot and cold. :) I think I have to agree with him, I love pie!

It's almost fall which means great apples for apple pie! My absolute favorite. Doesn't matter what kind of pie (crumble, dutch, whatever) apple is hands-down the best.

I LOVE PIE! My favorite is pecan pie, but in the summer I love fruit or cream pies.

Tough question; pecan pie would be first, followed by key lime and custard. A good apple pie is always welcome too.

I'm not a huge pie fan, but I occasionally like Dutch Apple, Chocolate Cream, and Banana Cream. I think I don't like the crust and excessive whipped cream. I would rather just eat the filling.

My grandma's lemon meringue pie is my favorite pie. I also love sugar pie, chocolate cream pie and key lime pie.

well my fav would be anything with chocolate and/or cheesecake and/or icecream....but those are arguably cakes disguised as pies when looking at more traditional pies, strangely enough, I never used to like cream pies but now I'd say coconut or banana cream pie would be my favorite!
