Wild Game: Love It or Hate It?

I enjoyed every bite of the 2010 Chefs' Holidays cooperative dinner, which featured five courses from talented California chefs. But I might have been most pumped about trying Matt Bolton's venison chop. I'm definitely an adventurous eater. Living in the city, however, I don't have wild game too often. Hence, anytime I spot elk, boar, venison, or even alligator on a menu, I spring for it. Still, less-than-daring diners might be turned off by the thought of eating game or wild meat. How do you feel about it?

LOVE IT! I frequently cook with rabbit and bison, and I love most of the things mentioned here: venison, alligator, game birds, moose, etc.

I like venison, rabbit, and all game birds. I'd try bison, ostrich and boar, but I'll keep clear of the reptiles. That just seems yucky.

I like it. My brother-in-law hunts and we get venison from him. Venison steaks are pretty decent and you can use ground venison like you would use hamburger. We also like to eat fresh-caugh panfish from the lake, but we only eat it in the summer and even then, only occasionally so we don't get too many toxins. I'm also a big fan of wild turkey and duck, but I'm not crazy about rabbit.

Ostrich is great! We've also tried kangaroo, it's delicious too. I'm not too keen on trying alligator though - not my speed.

YES! Come from a family of hunters. So much better than supermarket meats. Excuse me, I'm drooling right now.

I just made a bison meatloaf over the weekend, which was delicious - so I say, bring it on!

Love it! A local restaurant constantly has different game meats available. I love bison and venison the most, but they also do a mean rattlesnake sausage. I can see how eating a rabbit you were once petting could be tramatic, but I also think that is delicious.

Love it. Bison, elk, rattlesnake, ostrich all yummy. With the exception of insects and as long as it doesn't look like the original animal, I will try it! Except for rabbit. (my European family served us rabbit once, which we didn't know, and the terrible part was we were petting it just the week before. turned my sister vegetarian. i stopped eating meat for several weeks after that too)My brother lives to hunt, so when he comes by for a visit he brings the family some of the wild fowl he's gotten. Pheasant is pretty good.
