Would You Rather Eat Lunch or Dinner Out?

While lunch is a more affordable meal, I rarely go out for it. During the workweek, I'm that person who always brings a salad, sandwich, or some sort of leftovers into the office. However, YumSugar almost always heads out for lunch. The way that I look at it, instead of spending $10 a day on lunch, I would rather spend $50 on Friday or Saturday night for dinner. How about you?

I enjoy lunch. There are usually less people, it is cheaper, and if I overdo it, it is much easier to go easy on dinner than to remember to go easier the whole next day.

Saving on lunch by bringing homemade lunch to the office in order to have a nice treat on friday or saturday dinner!

Dinner out on Friday nights. It is the one night my friends and I splurge on a great meal and bottle of wine at a local restaurant.

Before I had kids, I would eat out for lunch once or twice a week, because I was being frugal and bringing lunch to work with me. Eating lunch at a restaurant always feels like a necessity - I'm out and need to eat - while dinner out feels like a treat, an occasion. Now that I'm a SAHM, every meal is made and eaten at home, so the once a month I get a date night with my husband, dinner in a restaurant is really special.

i try to do both only about once a week. i prefer dinner though because i can drink during it and don't have to go back to the office!

i would like both a lot more (if it were in my budget) but i would say lunch because its less expensive.

I'd rather eat dinner out simply because I never get to. With a two year old who can't sit still, dinner out is not really an option.

Nothing like going to a plaza for lunch....a beer or 2....light lunch...sun...people watching....my only question is ...plaza mayor or plaza menor?

Lunch is usually cheaper, and I don't feel as rushed in some places as I do for dinner. I don't tend to eat out during the week as much, for lunch or dinner. And if I eat a big lunch, I don't usually need a big dinner

i see benefits to both! during the week, i prefer bringing my lunch and meeting friends for dinner..on weekends i function in reverse...i enjoy brunches at restaurants and making dinner at home...

lol... I guess I am weird because I really prefer lunch over dinner. This is just in my experience, it may be different for others but there are several things I love about lunch. The nice day light, dressing light, eating light lunches with light drinks. It's usually more relaxed whereas dinner can be kine or a show. I just feel more relaxed doing lunch, and I prefer it. Even in winter, it's nice to dress up and casually sip lattes with my meals and totally relax. I guess I am just more of a comfort seeker.

Generally it depends for me. I try to bring lunch to work because I don't necessary like the options at my job's cafeteria. If I work from home, I'll choose to order out for lunch because it is less expensive than the dinner option, plus when working at home I do have more time to prepare dinner. Weekends are different in that a dinner out is always a nice treat.
