Are You Excited to Watch Julie and Julia?

Julie and Julia hits theaters this Friday, chronicling the lives of Julia Child and blogger Julie Powell, who cooked her way through Child's cookbook. (Check out my interview with the author.) We already got to screen the film, and I highly recommend making it a must see for August. Are you planning to head to the theater?

Not interested. The hype it's getting on food blogs is totally annoying to me as well.

No never. the previews alone make me want to vomit, knowing the how the real julie powell both looks and acts

I read the book, which I liked, but for some reason have no desire to see the movie. I think it is going to be a lot different than the book.

Watching Meryl Streep protray Julia Child gives me the creeps so I'll pass on the movie.

Put me on the why spend more time with Julie Powell than I already have column. I'm sure I'll enjoy Meryl Streep and Julia Child's portion of the story when it's on cable but Powell is a definite disincentive to spend money on it.

yes - i'm actually really excited for this - the book was really good and i have been hearing great things about the movie so far. i'll have to wait until next week to see it though since i'm going away this weekend. BUMMER!

I want to see, but not until it's out on DVD. I don't have enough attention span for any movie in the theater.

i'll be honest, i cannot STAND these previews...i don't know what it is, but i can't even watch it...i will never see this movie....they both are so ANNOYING in it, and if i have to see another terribly choppy short haircut i'll die

Maybe I'll do it in the theater - Tuesday is 2-for-1 night here, so it's as cheap as a rental and still counts as a night out! XD

I saw it as a preview a few weeks ago. I liked it, it was cute. The real Julie Powell is annoying, and the fiction Julie Powell is.....well, annoying, but not quite so much. Meryl Streep is awesome though, and really makes you fall in love with Julia.

Rental: I really love both actresses in this movie but I am very picky about what I will go see in the theater bc. I think it is just ridiculously expensive! This one I will rent from Hollywood Video or get at the Redbox...Hardly any movie today is worth what they cost at the theater IMO sadly.
