nope, i do love my meat lol, but since all my food has to be halal/kosher and many places dont accomodate that, i usually go for the veggie options. and i dont mind, its a nice change!
Ok, here's what irks me in a big way, so here goes.
You eat any of the following:
-seafood
-poultry
-pork
-beef
-lamb
-goat
-essentially anything that had to be slaughtered to be eaten
Then you are NOT a vegetarian
If you don't eat anything of the above list, but eat:
-dairy
-eggs
-honey
You are NOT Vegan (just vegetarian, and even then you must be careful what cheeses you eat because of the rennet).
I used to be vegetarian for 11 years, vegan for 2 and it always bugged the living daylights out of me when I heard people say "I'm a vegetarian, but I eat fish/chicken" like it doesn't count.
Smacks83 I totally agree! People ask me all the time if I eat fish, I'm always thinking 'no the fish still had to die, just like the cow or chicken'.
I just don't think that one life is more valuable than another.

try other options. When I would be asked "Are you still a vegetarian?" I would respond with "No, but the only meat I eat is fish." It was the truth. Today I do my best to eat locally grown,
organic and free range meats. It can't happen all the time but I do my best to stick to it.
Be responsible and who you are with your food. You don't bother trying to set your mind at ease by saying you don't slaughter cows, just chickens. It won't get you any further in life.
I am with smacks83 all the way. I have been a vegetarian since I was 12, so roughly 7 years, two of which I was vegan, but went back to vegetarianism once I started getting ill. I know plenty
of people who can do veganism easily and healthfully, but I just couldn't get the hang of it and would eat fries with ketchup all day.

I am a pescatarian (aka i eat fish, dairy, eggs occasionally), but at least 3 days a week I eat vegan. I eat this way for environmental and health reasons.
That is a lot of words, besides the fact that 60% of people I say this to dont know what a pescatarian is, let alone the difference between vegetarian and vegan.
So sometimes it just easier to say "vegetarian" when ordering food or letting people know of your eating limitations.

diet's more varied. It's encouraged me to get creative in the kitchen

I was for a decade then stopped to train for a half ironman and then it was easier while I learned about some food allergies I have. I have gone back to my non-meat eating ways now that I
have my allergies figured out. I suppose I may try to find a balance to get my good omega-3's etc. but for now I am in the lacto-ovo category.
I was a strict vegetarian for 7 years until I became pregnant when I had an overwhelming urge for a burger. I tried and tried to not give in but eventually did, and have been eating meat -
all kinds - ever since. My daughter is 8 months old and as of now I have no desire to go back to a vegetarian diet, although I might in the future.

I would have to say that fish is the only meat I eat. I was vegetarian for about 7 years, and then started eating fish bc it's so much easier to make sure you get all the vitamins etc that
you need, and it's also "easier", lame excuse, I know. Where I come from fish is a huge part of the local eating habits and delicacies so it really makes my life better to eat fish also. This
said, I've never actually cooked any fish of any kind, I only eat it while eating out, or at dinner parties and such. I don't see myself eating any other meat ever again. I tried a piece of

When I went home last week, I got to see a few whole rabbits and a rooster that had just been killed, and it made me incredibly uncomfortable and upset. That was a good thing though, I don't
like the idea people don't want to see animals being killed but are fine with buying steaks from the supermarket because they don't see the animal behind it.
Anyway, I'd been thinking about it for a long time, but I think I'm going to try and be a vegetarian for a little while, or at least eat as less meat/fish as I can handle.
I believe in moderation. My dinner plate is mostly vegetables, but I do have 1 meat item every night. Most of the time is fish (Salmon / catfish / Talipia) or chicken, I have red meat may be
once a week. And I limit myself to just a Palm size serving.
I've been a Vegetarian for about 10 years. I'm Lacto-Ovo and I eat Honey. I am VERY picky about my dairy and egg sources - have to be from organic/from humanely raised animals (I get our eggs
from some family friends or local farms) and the cheeses have to be made without rennet. Honey has to be Organic too.
And I agree with Smacks. It's a huge commitment to be Vegetarian (regardless of your motivations) and I have always felt like people cheapen it by saying they are Vegetarian, but they
"occasionally" eat chicken, meat, etc. You either are a Vegetarian or you aren't. If you occationally eat chicken, meat, etc., then you are someone who eats meat and poultry in moderation,
you are not "kinda" a Vegetarian.
I love meat, but I try to eat chicken mostly, or vegan meat since it's lower in calories and high in protein. I agree with Smacks83 on the vegetarian/vegan diet list. I was a vegetarian for 2

I stopped eating fish when i was 9 becasue it was cruel the way they kill fish and other animals.

Truer words were never spoken. Right on! It bugs me to death when people don't like to know where there food comes from (or worse yet, don't like to eat chicken/fish whole because it still
looks too much like an animal). Ugh!

And I agree with Smacks. It's a huge commitment to be Vegetarian (regardless of your motivations) and I have always felt like people cheapen it by saying they are Vegetarian, but they "occasionally" eat chicken, meat, etc. You either are a Vegetarian or you aren't. If you occationally eat chicken, meat, etc., then you are someone who eats meat and poultry in moderation, you are not "kinda" a Vegetarian.
