LOL me too I would get oh your vegetarian do you eat fish. HELLO its still a living thing. That said I am now vegan because my son has eczema and the doctor said he will out grow it some day and my friend said stop eating dairy and I did and I swear by it. The unexpected side effect for me I lost weight a lot too and feel so much better.
I've been a straight-up vegetarian for nearly a year now - I only eat dairy and eggs occasionally, and I use very little honey, but I cannot bear the thought of giving up cheese, so I probably won't become vegan ever - but for a long time (about ten years) I only ate poultry and fish.
In response to Smacks83 , I am a pescetarian. I eat fish but no other animals, I don't refer to myself as vegetarian.
i love meat but now im planning to reserve some days for vegetarian for environmental and ethical reasons (: hope i wont cave in to cravings!
I'd say I eat a vegetarian diet 80% of the time. Meat is just too expensive when you're on a college student's budget but there are times when I need a bacon cheeseburger. Life is too short to not indulge sometimes!
No boned meat = debonetarian?
Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn. To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demiglace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living.

Hi all...
I feel the same way as Fashionista...You either are or aren´t - you cannot call yourself a vegetarian or vegan if you are still eating things that are not included in the definition of the term.
I´m a vegetarian that eats organic eggs on occasion and cheese that is made without rennet. Dairy is totally out.
In my case, it takes a lot of effort! I do it for the ecology, for the animals and it makes me feel like I haven´t contributed to any pain. So please be careful with the meaning of things!
XOXOXO
i AM a veggie - and i get kind of frustrated when people eat fish and say that they are veggies. they are pescatarians not vegetarians. my mom for example eats all fish...but not meat...(although i know that i saw her eat turkey at thanksgiving). that irritates me! i've been a veggie for 15 years....
For reasons such as, oh, I don't know, pancetta, bacon, prosciutto, nduja, and paté, I have always been a carnivore. Still, I sometimes have zen-like moments (and they are merely moments) of contemplating vegetarianism. And I recently read an article about going vegan for a month that nearly swayed me. But then I remember things like jamon Iberico...
Vegan! I could never support the exploitation, enslavement, and killing of sentient beings for unnecessary pleasures or profit!
Go vegan!
Advah: "I don't like the idea people don't want to see animals being killed but are fine with buying steaks from the supermarket because they don't see the animal behind it."
Truer words were never spoken. Right on! It bugs me to death when people don't like to know where there food comes from (or worse yet, don't like to eat chicken/fish whole because it still looks too much like an animal). Ugh!
No meat for me.
I eat fish, eggs (organic, cage free, no antibiotics or hormones only) and cheese and yogurt.
I wish I could cut the cheese and yogurt b/c I think you still get all the terrible shit that was pumped into an animal when you are eating a product that came from it, even if it isn't the animal itself, but I can't seem to make my head overrule my taste buds on that one yet.
I stopped eating fish when i was 9 becasue it was cruel the way they kill fish and other animals.
But i wasn't allowed to give up meat becasue i am a gymnast and need the protien
I could never be a vegetarian, I'm too much of a carnivore! I'm much more of a flexitarian, not opposed to meat, but don't usually take the time to prepare it for myself!
I love meat, but I try to eat chicken mostly, or vegan meat since it's lower in calories and high in protein. I agree with Smacks83 on the vegetarian/vegan diet list. I was a vegetarian for 2 years and it always bugged me when people said they were vegetarian, but ate fish.
I've been a Vegetarian for about 10 years. I'm Lacto-Ovo and I eat Honey. I am VERY picky about my dairy and egg sources - have to be from organic/from humanely raised animals (I get our eggs from some family friends or local farms) and the cheeses have to be made without rennet. Honey has to be Organic too.
And I agree with Smacks. It's a huge commitment to be Vegetarian (regardless of your motivations) and I have always felt like people cheapen it by saying they are Vegetarian, but they "occasionally" eat chicken, meat, etc. You either are a Vegetarian or you aren't. If you occationally eat chicken, meat, etc., then you are someone who eats meat and poultry in moderation, you are not "kinda" a Vegetarian.
