Don't miss out on the HUGE English food is not a joke roundup that Sam at Becks & Posh did to celebrate St. George's Day. There are over 65 entries, including the one pictured (Fish & Chips Samanda Style) and mine for Steak & Ale Pie.

OOO no wonder i didnt see it! when i was younger i refused to eat anything but fish & chips for YEARS!! :rotfl: and im a sucka for meat & taters. sigh. i should be a man :p but i see your point! i loooove good pastas too :D

I love good pasta too. Fresh pesto is delicious. Try to find something like that in English food.

mandiesoh crispy fish and plain chips versus coq au vin. Which one would you prefer to have for dinner? Plain cod with parsley sauce versus bouillabaisse? Which one would you like? I would rather have the latter. We don't use a lot of aromatic herbs in English food. A lot of potatoes are used with meat. It's dead simple and to me very plain. No spices either.

It isn't boring but it's very plain compares to italian, french or spanish. I know a lot of chefs say we have great food but i don't see a lot of them serve it in their restaurants..lol

my gosh! all the desserts look to die for, and im totally craving fish & chips now! :drool: i've never wanted to try beans & egg on toast, but now i find myself tempted. lol. the ending pic with the traditional roast was aweeesome. im so hungry now! lol
