As much as I would love to drink expensive wines, my budget just doesn't always allow it. Luckily there are plenty of wonderful wines under $20. From Charles Shaw Shiraz to Pomelo Savigunon Blanc, here is a list of 15 all-American bargain wines. — The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Section

That was a great list! To add to it, it's not an American wine, it's Australian, but Yellow Tail is a great wine for a great price! My favorite is their Pinot Grigio and Shiraz.

I can't afford expensive wines either, but I also stay away from the real cheap stuff. It always gives me a huge headache and makes me feel like crap. Thanks for this list!

My mom went to a Family Christmas party on Xmas Eve and they had a really good wine. She asked what it was, because she thought she had finally found a wine that was tasty, and more classy that Boone's Farm. So she finds out the name, and goes to the store to pick some up. It was cheaper than Boone's Farm! How funny is that? We can't drink wine that costs more than $5 a bottle, we just don't like it. I got a bottle of Cristal for my 21st b-day, drank about half the glass, and gave the rest away. Yuck! Just because something is fancy don't mean it's good!

I love all of the Colombia Crest wines... Not just the Grande Estate wines but the Two Vines also!

I kid you not but there is a wonderful wine sold at KROGER! The brand is Reunite. The red is Lambrusco and the white is D'Oro. The price tag is merely $6. I highly recommend it. Moscato d'Asti is another wine I like under $20. It's an Italian dessert wine. You can find in some liquor stores that have a selection of international wines for around $16.
