I normally call them French macaroons, but Tartelette (who's post it is) refers to them as macarons, so I thought I'd leave it that way. They're interchangeable as far as I know.

Some people prefer saying "macarons" because the ones you see are just like the French macarons and nothing like the American coconut macaroons.
