I tried this once, and it didn't work so well for me. Maybe I did something wrong. I use so much basil I gave up and decided to get my own basil plant. It's much easier to just clip it off as needed. And a lot cheaper!

And here I was, thinking it might be a good idea to freeze basil. I learned the hard way that that does not work.

That's a great idea. However, I have an extremely happy basil plant growing in my kitchen windowsill, so I don't have to worry about keeping it fresh.
