That would be... interesting. I'd probably try a bite, if it were offered to me, but I'd be hesitant to order one for myself.

if you were stuck on a desert island and all you had to eat was foie gras, i would understand that your priorities were focused on surviving. But in this case, what other priority renders you incapable of avoiding eating foie gras?

I like foie gras, but wouldnt eat it this way. And i dont want a million comments on "do you know how its made, or what the geese go through" my priorities are focused elsewhere

i hope you realise how foie gras is made... "Foie gras, French for "fatty liver," is made from the grotesquely enlarged livers of male ducks and geese. The birds are kept in tiny wire cages or packed into sheds. Pipes are repeatedly shoved down the birds' throats, and up to 4 pounds of grain and fat are pumped into their stomachs two or three times every day. The pipes puncture many birds' throats, sometimes causing the animals to bleed to death. This cruel procedure causes the birds' livers to become diseased and swell to up to 10 times their normal size. Many birds become too sick to stand up. so funny, i just got back from a mini-vacation through sonoma/napa & indulged in my annual trip to cyrus restaurant in healdsburg. the foie gras option that i chose was a torchon with homemade peanut butter & jam! i was skeptical (but feeling adventurous) & i have to tell you... it was absolutely delicious. my dining companion order the seared foie gras & his was amazing, but we both agreed mine was better! surprising to me, esp since i adore seared foie gras.
