I went to my friends parents house with her for a bbq a few weeks back and her dad made his "famous" asparagus...a cold version: 1. boil/steam the asparagus for five minutes. 2. put them in a baking pan. 3. pour italian dressing over them along with parm cheese [the powdered kind] sprinkled on top. 4. put it in the fridge for two hours or so, then serve. it was delicious!!
