Actually, from a friend of mine that knows Lisa here is an update. "Spike was not fired. He left to start a business in DC. He gave Lisa his job. They’re friends. They’re also both really close with Andrew."

i read about this on eater last night - i thought that it's really interesting how that worked out. hmm...wonder what the real reason there was.
