The sip-and-see is a terrific idea! My family did this when my niece and her husband had their first baby. More relaxed and everyone was welcome, so the guys didn't feel as though they had to hide out in the backyard. The grandmoms and aunties brought the food and drinks, and we did all the cleaning, so all the parents and baby had to do was relax and be shown off. :)
