I love sweets made with almonds. Marzipan is one of my all time favorite treats, but I have yet to work up the courage to make the shapable garnish. When I'm in need of baking a treat that will tide over my almond fix, I make these delicious little almond butter cookies. Almond extract, almond paste, and chopped almonds give these cookies an excellent almond flavor. They complement a glass of afternoon tea or a happy hour flute of bubbly. Want the recipe? Tonight is my grandfather's birthday dinner. We are having a small party and naturally I was in charge of planning the menu. It's a classic, simple meal that focuses on the best ingredients around and one of the side dishes will be these fantastic garlic roast potatoes.
Roast potatoes are super easy to make as the oven does all the work. They complement almost everything and are excellent plain or with an aioli dipping sauce. Get the recipe to this versatile side now, just read more
I'm a meat lover, I love meat in all of its delicious forms. I even enjoy slicing fresh ham from a cured pig leg. However, I like to keep my meat in the kitchen and don't know what to think about these meat inspired accessories. A business card holder that resembles raw kobe beef? A scarf that looks like bacon? On one hand they make me laugh, but on the other hand they kind of gross me out. I think these would be great gag gifts for my vegetarian friends. What do you think? Are you into these meat accessories?
