Yum Market Finds: Red & White Holiday

Like Santa Claus or candy canes, red and white can fill any kitchen with holiday cheer.

Like Santa Claus or candy canes, red and white can fill any kitchen with holiday cheer. While browsing the Yum Market on TeamSugar, I noticed that it was overflowing with deep-red and snowy-white hues. Incorporating this color combination into your kitchen is super easy. You can fill a bowl with candy canes or add a gorgeous cocktail shaker to your home bar. I love this clear and red shaker that jennjennnbubba found. It totally makes me want to whip up white Russians!

YumSugar Gift Guide: Newlyweds

When Christmas shopping for the couple who was recently married, stay away from items that may have been wedding gifts.

When Christmas shopping for the couple who was recently married, stay away from items that may have been wedding gifts. Instead, opt for fun and useful accessories for their kitchen. A simple serving tray is always welcome, as is a stylish tablecloth and napkin set. Or give them a cooking-for-two cookbook. They will be able to make delicious meals together for many days to come!

2007's Favorite Foodie Film Is . . .

Ask anyone and they'll tell you I'm really just a big kid at heart.

Ask anyone and they'll tell you I'm really just a big kid at heart. Turns out a good portion of you are too. In fact 62 percent of you voted Ratatouille your favorite food film of 2007. While we've had a few disagreements in our Best of 2007 recaps, this is one case where I completely agree with you. Ratatouille is such a fabulously cute film and completely droolworthy. It's hard to believe that the food is not real. Also, I love that an entire generation of children is going to grow up knowing what a sous chef is.

Fast & Easy Dinner: Salmon With Zucchini and Sauteed Corn

Tonight is the longest and darkest night of the year.

Tonight is the longest and darkest night of the year. Brighten things up with a meal that is fresh, colorful, and spicy. Gorgeous salmon fillets paired with a fragrant salsa makes for a succulent and scrumptious meal. The salmon is rubbed with chili and placed on a bed of zucchini. While this broils in the oven, a chunky salsa of corn and garlic is sauteed on the stove. The entire meal is ready in about twenty minutes and pairs nicely with a crisp white wine. Want the recipe? Come Party With Me: Christmas Dinner — The Look

If you have a formal dining room, eat Christmas dinner there.

If you have a formal dining room, eat Christmas dinner there. If you don't, set up a table beside the glowing Christmas tree. Next, focus your attention on creating a beautiful table setting. Cover the table with a holiday print tablecloth. Top this with gold chargers and your best china. Shiny green napkins rolled with jingle bell napkin rings are festive and fun.

Serve the food on shiny red platters and the drinks in amber hued red and green stemware. Place red amaryllis flowers in low vases and run them down the middle of the table. Add glowing light by scattering golden votives and candles between the vases. Tie green and gold ribbons to the back of your chairs.

Finally, have a leisurely, unhurried meal and enjoy your exquisite surroundings!
