For those lucky enough to win, The Oscar party continued at the Kodak Theater Governor's Ball after the show.

For those lucky enough to win, The Oscar party continued at the Kodak Theater Governor's Ball after the show. They compared the sizes of their little gold men and basked in the general glow of each other. We don't blame them, so many of last night's winners waited for decades to get the recognition they deserve. Not just Martin Scorsese but Alan Arkin and Forest Whitaker as well. In case you missed it, here's a complete list of winners. As for the Sugar Network contest, we would like to congratulate the top winners of our ballot contest. The Grand Prize Prada Bag Winner is.... LegallyBlonder with 20 out of 24 correct!!!! Other runners up are Alliebelle and Witchy Ways with 19 and slashyelizabeth with 18 correct. They will enjoy some sweet cash to our favorite stores, Neiman Marcus, Apple and Sephora. Congrats to all and thanks for playing.

Alternative To Ice Cream: Pistachio Semifreddo

Since today is National Pistachio Day, I thought I would post an interesting recipe that highlights pistachios as the main flavor.

Since today is National Pistachio Day, I thought I would post an interesting recipe that highlights pistachios as the main flavor. Semifreddo literally translates to half cold in Italian, and in the culinary world it is generally a term for various chilled or partially frozen desserts - including cake, ice cream, fruit, or custard. In this case, it is like an ice cream that you can make without an ice cream maker (woo-hoo!). The mixture doesn't get as frozen as ice cream would, but it tastes just as sweet. Pistachio semifreddo makes an elegant end to a supper with friends. To add this recipe to your repertoire, read more

Happy Hour: Sunshine in Malibu

Alan Arkin's suprise win for Best Supporting Actor is definitely cause for celebration.

Alan Arkin's suprise win for Best Supporting Actor is definitely cause for celebration. So I've rounded up another Oscar inspired recipe. This time it's a drink called [Little Miss] Sunshine in Malibu. Created specifically for the Oscars, this drink is a citrusy mix of pineapple rum and mango. So raise a glass and toast good ol' Grandpa (aka Alan Arkin). And if you agree, or don't agree, with his win, be sure to voice your opinion over at BuzzSugar. To read the recipe, read more

The Look of the Governors Ball, Part 2

Last week I showed you images of the planned decor for the Governors Ball, the Academy Awards official after party.

Last week I showed you images of the planned decor for the Governors Ball, the Academy Awards official after party. But what did the event space really look like moments before the stars rushed through the doors? How did the tranquil and chic decor transform with the addition of people? What did Wolfgang Puck look like as he ran down the red carpet with Oscar shaped edible hor d'oeuvres? For picture answers to the above questions, read more

South Beach Wine & Food - Food Network Chefs en Masse

While the Oscars may have been the event that was on everyone's mind this weekend, over in Miami Beach, the focus was on food instead of fashion.

While the Oscars may have been the event that was on everyone's mind this weekend, over in Miami Beach, the focus was on food instead of fashion. At the South Beach Wine and Food Festival's Culinary and Lifestyle Seminar, some of Food Network's hottest TV stars were on hand to show off their techniques, answer audience questions and sputter off a lot of other useful tips.

And can I just get a little girly here and say that I love Nigella's style? She is in the kitchen, but still so glam... I need to get me a little black cooking dress!

The Look: Vanity Fair's Oscar After Party

Last night after the Academy Awards ended, Hollywood's biggest night of parting began.

Last night after the Academy Awards ended, Hollywood's biggest night of parting began. One of the most popular parties, the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, hosted at Morton's by Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter, was deliciously decorated in golden hues and thousands of golden roses. Guests were encouraged to write, eat, smoke, and drink at the event. Pads and pencils were located above each place setting along with a silver zippo lighter engraved with a quote, The only way to find the best actor would be to let everybody play Hamlet and let the best man win, from Humphrey Bogart at the 1951 Academy Awards. Colored cigarettes, Vanity Fair matchboxes, and ashtrays were located on every table throughout the locale. Champagne and Grey Goose vodka were the chosen apertifs and in addition to passed trays filled with lovely hors d'oeuvres stars were offered In-N-Out Burgers. Stars like Madonna, Gwen Stefani, TomKat, and Kirsten Dunst partied late until the night. Off to Market

Off To Market: Host Gift

I was ichatting with my friend Elizabeth when she asked me to help her out with something.

I was ichatting with my friend Elizabeth when she asked me to help her out with something. She's traveling to our Spanish "home-away-from-home" for five days and is going to be put up by a friend of ours, Ravé. Elizabeth asked me to help her out and come up with a great host gift for Ravé - something a little more special than a bottle of Patron.

So, let's all head off to market in search of a great host gift for Ravé. He's a trustworthy guy who has his own heavy metal band and several tattoos. He's not really the girlfriend type (I've known him for 3.5 years and have never seen him in a relationship) so his kitchen could use a feminine touch or two. He's a guy's guy (he drives a truck and a motorcycle), likes to cook and loves to eat. So keep his personality traits in mind when looking for the perfect host gift. Save your gift ideas in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, Host Gift. Good luck! Elizabeth and I can't wait to see what you find.

Yesterday PartySugar gave us a tasty recipe for Oscar-worthy Black Truffle Risotto.

Yesterday PartySugar gave us a tasty recipe for Oscar-worthy Black Truffle Risotto. If you're like me, you ended up snacking so much during the Oscars that when it came time for the main course, you were too full to eat. So what to do with all that lovely chicken and risotto? Why not turn it into a delectable pan fried treat and whip up some Risotto Pancakes? You can use the leftover risotto as the base and mix in some of the leftover chicken as well. The end result will be a little bit like a corn fritter and a lot like something you're definitely going to enjoy. To check out the recipe, read more
