It's tea drinking season and you can't have a steaming cup of heart warming tea without a cute little teapot, right? As I was looking through the Yum Market I noticed that you gals have found some pretty cool pots. Here are a few that are worth sharing:

If you have an old fashioned or country style kitchen this cast iron mustard teapot saved by ForgetMeNot will sit gracefully on the top of your stove.

Happy Hour: Ski Lift

If you looked out the window today and saw gray skies, cold winds, hard rains, or soft snowflakes, man do I have a special treat for you.

If you looked out the window today and saw gray skies, cold winds, hard rains, or soft snowflakes, man do I have a special treat for you. It's in the form of a decadent hot cocktail spiked with sunny tropical flavors that will warm you while giving you a blissful buzz. I love spiked hot chocolate and usually make a minty, dark chocolate concoction but this recipe pairs hot cocoa with peach and coconut flavors. Top it with whipped cream and pair with a fireplace, movie, and blanket for a leisurely evening in. Or if you're one of those adventurous outdoorsy types fill a thermos and enjoy this steaming drink while you sit back for the long ride back up the mountain on the chair lift. Super Special Occasions: Join My Group!

After I host an amazingly successful fete, I feel super proud of all my accomplishments and I like to share them with anybody who was unable to attend.

After I host an amazingly successful fete, I feel super proud of all my accomplishments and I like to share them with anybody who was unable to attend. I snap tons of pictures of the decor (before and during the event), the food spreads, the centerpieces, the flowers, the candles, I even like to show off the invitation! If you're anything like me and have tons of photos of events you've hosted, attended, or seen, please share them with us. Upload them to my new group, Super Special Occasions, on TeamSugar. Checking out images of other parties is an excellent way to get inspiration for your next party... so if you want to see more pics like this interior shot of a recent Dom Perignon dinner, come party with me by browsing through the images of Super Special Occasions and post your own while you're there!

In order for me and my guests to fully understand the wines we shall be tasting, taking a few tasting notes are highly encouraged. To make it super easy (this a party and not a class) I've created a wine club tasting notes worksheet. You can download it, print it out and use it at your own wine club meetings. Or if you are sampling a new wine and want to remember it at a later date, print one out and fill it in. For detailed directions on how to fill it in and vocabulary definitions, read more

What Do Men Like to Cook?

Uncrate, which dubs itself as a web magazine for guys who love stuff, recently asked their readers (mostly men) what their favorite dish to cook was.

Uncrate, which dubs itself as a web magazine for guys who love stuff, recently asked their readers (mostly men) what their favorite dish to cook was. Some of the highlights include "Meat + Hot Coals," reservations, chicken parmesan, and asparagus risotto, but there were also a surprising number of chocolate responses (chocolate cookies, chocolate beer stew). My favorite comment came from one reader who said:

If you're a guy and can't make Prime Rib, you may as well put on a dress.

So how about you ladies (and gents, don't be shy, join in too!), what's your favorite dish to cook? Let us know, or better yet, post the recipe on TeamSugar!

Off To Market: Butter Bell

YumSugar needs our help readers!

YumSugar needs our help readers! Here's the deal, she recently splurged on some super expensive goat's milk butter and she wants to keep this special, smooth, excessively creamy butter at room temperature for maximum enjoyment. This butter is too nice to throw on a plate and place in the cabinet, so we need to find Yum a butter bell. A butter bell is a butter container that maintains the perfect temperature of the butter while protecting it from outside air. She began looking for one but all she could find were hideously country little butter bells with butter written in loopy letters. YumSugar is not much of a romantic and her kitchen is sleek and chic rather than country and kitsch, so keep that in mind when you search for a butter container. She has beautiful granite counter tops and a modern butter bell will work wonderfully. Save what you find in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, Butter Bell. Both YumSugar and I are excited to see what you discover so good luck!

Today's Special: Adobo Pork & Potato Packets

Adobo is a sauce or paste used as a seasoning for meats, seafood or poultry typically in Philippine and Mexican cooking.

Adobo is a sauce or paste used as a seasoning for meats, seafood or poultry typically in Philippine and Mexican cooking. This easy yet tasty pork is rubbed in an adobo of paprika, vinegar, garlic, and salt. The potatoes are rubbed in the same mixture and cooked together in a tight packet. You can make this on the grill or put the potato packets in a 375°F oven and cook the pork chops on an indoor grilling pan. Slice the potatoes very thinly, no thicker than 1/8 inch. For best results use a mandoline or the 2mm slicing blade on a food processor—or if you like cut them slowly with a very sharp knife. To make this for dinner tonight, read more

Come Party With Me: Wine Club's 1st Meeting - Music

Lately I have been reading a lot of books about wine and they all say the same important message: the best way to learn about wine is to taste as many and as much as you possibly can.

Lately I have been reading a lot of books about wine and they all say the same important message: the best way to learn about wine is to taste as many and as much as you possibly can. Thats why I am forming a wine club. By inviting a small, intimate group of friends to each bring a bottle of the same varietal of wine, I hope to refine my palette and ability to judge aromas, flavors, and finishes. The first meeting is coming up (perhaps meeting isn't the best word to describe event, it's more of a party) in which we celebrate a love and appreciation for wine while learning about what we are drinking. I know education and alcohol rarely go hand in hand, but in this case they do. I began preparing for this party on Monday when I made invitations that can be changed each month. On Tuesday I talked about the menu, on Wednesday tips for successful sipping, and yesterday the look. Today I must come up with a soundtrack for the get together so come party with me. read more
