Since we kicked off our very first travel week here on YumSugar it's fitting that I feature a few fabulous Yum Market finds in relation to traveling. Whether it's exotic French seasonings in flyer friendly chic tins like these ones bookmarked by atkoester, or a picnic basket that you pack a meal in, summer is the perfect time to splurge on travel related food goods. A lunchbox that resembles a handbag, wine glass holders for the grass, and a box of chocolates that you can munch on while you wait are three more awesome options for traveling food fun. Finally, if you aren't taking any extravagant vacations this year, take a culinary journey in your kitchen by making a dish from In Nirmala's Kitchen: Everyday World Cuisine. Check out these items in our new cool list scroller below!

Happy Hour: Mussaka

Ouzo is the national drink of Greece.

Ouzo is the national drink of Greece. It's a clear liquor that is made from pressed grapes, aniseed, and a variety of herbs. It has a licorice flavor similar to Anise and can be consumed on the rocks or mixed with water. Ouzo is traditionally sipped slowly over a period of several hours at little bars called ouzeries where it's paired with tasty snacks such as octopus, salad, sardines, calamari, fried zucchini and clams. Here it is paired with Drambuie and Coke to make a tasty cocktail. Try this drink for your next happy hour, to get the recipe, read more

Loukoumades, The Great Greek Doughnut

When I was in college, there was a Greek food festival every year.

When I was in college, there was a Greek food festival every year. My housemate and I would jump on our bikes and head down there in order to load up on tasty treats. There were a lot of great things to try, but my favorite was definitely an order of freshly fried loukoumades (imagine plump balls of deep fried dough, coated in sugar syrup or honey!). The festival is only once a year, but I decided I had to learn how to make them myself. To find a recipe and celebrate our Greek food coverage, as well as National Doughnut Dayread more

In An Absolut World: Love It Or Hate It?

Absolut has spent the last 28 years making iconic ads where the focus was the bottle.

Absolut has spent the last 28 years making iconic ads where the focus was the bottle. However, this year they've decided to freshen things up and embrace change. Their new "In An Absolut World" campaign, features photos from a world where everything is as fantastic as Absolut.

Ads portray pregnant men and their beaming female spouses, Times Square as a fine-art gallery, and protesters and police settling differences with pillow fights.

All of this is intended to show Absolut as the ideal vodka in a landscape crowded with luxury upstarts.

Absolut, has fallen to the number two vodka brand in the world, having lost customers to Grey Goose, Belvedere, Ketel One and other upstart luxury brands. They're hoping these ads will push them back to number one.

I'm not sure what I think about these ads. On one hand I like them, but on the other I'm thinking guys might avoid Absolut from now on - I mean who wants to drink a vodka that will make you preggers? What do you guys think, do you like the new campaign?

Tips

Reduce The Amount Of Cupcake Clean Up

What I hate about making cupcakes is having to scrape and scrub the muffin tin afterwards.

What I hate about making cupcakes is having to scrape and scrub the muffin tin afterwards. Removing the caked on batter hurts my arm and ruins my nails. So I developed a system: I cover the muffin tin tightly with aluminum foil. Next, I slice a hole where the cupcake batter is supposed to go and press the foil into each indentation. I place the cupcake paper liners in the hole and fill with batter. If any of the batter spills it gets on the foil and not on the pan! After the cupcakes or muffins are finished baking & cooling, simply peel off the dirty foil and dispose.

Come Party With Me

Come Party With Me: Welcome Back - Music

The last thing you need to worry about when hosting a party is the music.

The last thing you need to worry about when hosting a party is the music. That's why it's incredibly important to set aside time before the party begins to create a playlist. Oftentimes I delegate the song selection to a more musically inclined friend like BuzzSugar so I can focus on the other aspects of the party (invitations, food, drinks, decor, etc.). But if you have to make a soundtrack yourself for a party like the welcome back one I am hosting tomorrow make sure you have several hours of good tunes to groove and converse to. For my musical choices (ok with help from Buzz!) read more
