Million Dollar Ice Cream, Just Don't Try To Eat It

Looks too good to eat doesn't it?

Looks too good to eat doesn't it? Oh, that's because you can't. You could try, but the 20 ounces of 18k white and yellow gold and 548 round diamonds, 87 square emerald diamonds and a fancy 5.63 carat "Fancy Intense Yellow" radiant diamond might get in the way. Not to mention you'd probably hate yourself for eating $1 million dollars worth of jewels, even if they do look like a rather tasty cone.

The cone, which was made by Lazare Kaplan International Inc. in conjunction with Bruster's Real Ice Cream, was unveiled at the JCK Las Vegas Show. It was designed to mimic the look of Bruster's signature cherry vanilla ice cream and is supposed to speak of the "outstanding quality" of Bruster's ice cream. The million dollar cone is actually for sale and Bruster's will donate its proceeds from the sale to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Oh and my favorite part of this story? Why that would be the fact that it's being touted as "the world's first $1 million ice cream cone." You know, so when the copycat million dollar cones come out they'll be able to say they did it first...

Come Party With Me

Come Party With Me: Graduation - Menu (Dessert)

I know it's traditional to serve a large sheet cake that says Congratulations, but I love to surprise guests by breaking the usual party rules.

I know it's traditional to serve a large sheet cake that says Congratulations, but I love to surprise guests by breaking the usual party rules. Besides I'm all caked out right now and want to serve an extraordinary dessert that's summer appropriate. Make a dessert that will please your grad by asking them what they want. My sister's favorite dessert combination is chocolate and peanut butter, so I'll make frozen choco peanut butter bars with a hot fudge sauce. Sounds decadently delicious doesn't it? Well, take a look at the recipe and start drooling, just read more

Day Of The Wedding: Don't Forget To Eat!

Our ongoing coverage of wedding season on the Sugar Network is back!

Our ongoing coverage of wedding season on the Sugar Network is back! As nervous and stressful as you may get on the big day, it's super important to remember to eat - especially breakfast (don't skip it!). Whether you are a bridesmaid, the maid of honor, or the bride herself, the last thing you want is to have one glass of champagne and pass out at the wedding. To avoid this embarrassing fate, the bride should organize a snack table or provide bag lunches for all of those involved in the wedding party. If the bride is overwhelmed, the job can be distributed to a trusted and reliable bridesmaid or close friend. For some quick and easy wedding day snackables, read more

Carnival In The Office - Skittles Carnival Reviewed

When I heard about the new limited edition Carnival Skittles (thanks for the tip candyblog!), I knew I'd have to try them.

When I heard about the new limited edition Carnival Skittles (thanks for the tip candyblog!), I knew I'd have to try them. Luckily my local 7-11 had them in stock, so I purchased a pack and rounded up the recruits for a quick taste test.

The pack was a nice bright yellow color with five flavors inside. Here's what we thought of them:

Red Licorice (red): Tasted suprisingly like red licorice, although the texture was wrong with that flavor. No one could figure out why you'd want to eat red licorice skittles over actual real red licorice. Quote that sums it up: "Why would you make candy that tastes like candy?"

Bubble Gum (pink): This one tasted exactly like what you'd expect. It also has a similar texture, and is a bit odd when it disappears. Quote that sums it up: "Tastes exactly like Bazooka Joe bubble gum."

Hell's Kitchen - 3.1 Recap

Last night Fox aired the third season premiere of "Hell's Kitchen", hot shot British chef Gordon Ramsay's reality show.

Last night Fox aired the third season premiere of "Hell's Kitchen", hot shot British chef Gordon Ramsay's reality show. It was my first experience with Hell's Kitchen and what a memorable, yet traumatizing, experience it was. Why anyone in their right mind would volunteer to go into Hell's Kitchen is beyond me. You couldn't pay me in Dior handbags to put up with the condescending, rude, and completely disrespectful behavior and attitude of Ramsay. Sure he is a world renowned chef with Michelin stars and acclaimed restaurants, but in my opinion, no amount of fame, fortune, or success should grant you the right to poorly treat, profusely curse, and yell at people you hardly know. This of course, is the entire premise behind Hell's Kitchen. Twelve contestants have joined Ramsay in the kitchen for a chance to be the head chef at a new Italian restaurant in Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa in Vegas. Unlike Top Chef or the Next Food Network Star, in this competition the contestants have to cook in a real kitchen for real people. Come Party With Me: Graduation - Menu (Vegetarian Appetizers)

It's really easy to get carried away and make enough food to feed an army at your graduation party.

It's really easy to get carried away and make enough food to feed an army at your graduation party. However, keep in mind that usually several graduation parties take place on the same day, on the same weekend, so your guests might be party hopping and therefore not too hungry. Small snacks, cooling dips, and flavor packed bite-sized appetizers are excellent ideas. Pay special attention to the presentation and make everything look super scrumptious so guests will be tempted to take a sampling. I'm offering options for both the meat-lovers and vegetarians by serving empanadas, a gourmet salsa with grilled pineapple and tomatillos, and Smoked Mozzarella and Sundried Tomato Cigars. Don't these recipes sound absolutely mouth watering? Check them out now, just read more
