Yum Market Finds: A Splash Of Green

I was a little computer-fried by the time I started surfing the Yum Market on TeamSugar.

I was a little computer-fried by the time I started surfing the Yum Market on TeamSugar. As my eyes glazed over, I suddenly saw splashes of green sprinkled on the page. Instantly revitalized and inspired, I couldn't stop thinking about how adding the color green to your kitchen is a wonderful way to re-invent the look. The earthy color that signifies rebirth and growth is normally identified with Spring, but I think it will freshen and lighten things up for Fall. From a teapot to a clock, from an apron to the glazed jar at right that tdamji found, you gals are crazy about green too! To take a look at the accessories and gadgets that have encouraged me to add a splash of green to my own kitchen, see below.

Happy Hour: Raspberry Lemon Drop

Friday is finally here and you know what that means, it's cocktail time!

Friday is finally here and you know what that means, it's cocktail time! Wow that sounded way too much like Sandra Lee... obviously it's been a very long week. I'm not afraid to say I'm ready for a strong, comforting cocktail — by comforting I mean super sweet and fabulously girlie. A raspberry lemon drop with a sugar coated rim is just what the doctor ordered. Think you can only order a cocktail this gorgeous at a restaurant? Well think again! I've got the California Pizza Kitchen's recipe, so you can enjoy it wherever you want, whenever you want. You'll learn how it's done when you read more

Ridiculously Simple Tip: No More Drippy Cones

Here's a ridiculously simple tip that will definitely make you go, 'DOH!

Here's a ridiculously simple tip that will definitely make you go, 'DOH!

One of the problems with ice cream cones, especially homemade ones, is that after a few minutes, the ice cream starts to leak out of the bottom. When that happens you have to tip the bottom of the cone and try to suck the melting ice cream out, or you double-up on napkins. It's never very elegant and you often look ridiculous. However, what if I told you that there was a great way to prevent all of this. Think about it, there's a hole on the bottom of the cone, so what if you plugged it? That's right all you have to do is plug it so that the ice cream can't escape. A simple marshmallow or malt ball on the inside of the cone works well — it doesn't really matter as long as it's edible, plugs the hole and pairs well with your ice cream!

Which AB Travel Show Do You Prefer?

Chefs with travel shows seem to be quite the rage these days.

Chefs with travel shows seem to be quite the rage these days. Right now there's both Anthony Bourdain with No Reservations and Alton Brown with Feasting on Asphalt. I love both of them for different reasons, but it makes me wonder which AB do you prefer?

Off To Market Recap: Drink Koozie

I forgot my dear girlfriend Maile's birthday.

I forgot my dear girlfriend Maile's birthday. I usually never forget a friend's birthday and I want to make it up to her by bringing a little something special next time we meet. I told you that she collects drink koozies and her beers are never without a smart little jacket. I asked you to help me by scouring the internet for the funkiest, most alternative drink koozie around. Maile's not super girlie so vintage, rock inspired pieces were ideal. You saved the koozies in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag Drink Koozie and I was plesantly surprised to see some fabulously fun koozies.

It was a tough call deciding my favorite, so I've decided to get her two! The I (Heart) Pirates koozie is hysterical and since she is always quoting Pirates of The Caribbean, I know she'll love it. Great find Swp2885! HonestMuffin bookmarked this Let's Get Naked koozie that is a total attention grabber and conversation starter. I've never heard of the Cory Marrow Band, but this koozie is too good to pass up!

GeekSugar has put together an article that explains how to bookmark on TeamSugar. Check it out for more details!

Fast & Easy Dinner: Moroccan Meatballs Over Couscous

After an exhausting day, don't be ashamed to get help from the supermarket.

After an exhausting day, don't be ashamed to get help from the supermarket. Especially on a Friday night. By then, the last thing you feel like doing is mixing and frying a batch of 36 meatballs. However, if you purchase a pack of frozen or premade ones, you can have a delicious dinner in twenty minutes. Get the fragrant sauce going quickly by chopping the onions and garlic in a food processor. Serve with a cold beer, a glass of Zinfandel or a full bodied Chardonnay. Summer of Sandwiches: Chocolate Citrus Biscotti with Orange Ice Cream

While I was chomping down on the biscotti I made the other day, I realized that it would be an even better treat if there was ice cream involved.

While I was chomping down on the biscotti I made the other day, I realized that it would be an even better treat if there was ice cream involved. The biscotti had an citrus hint to it, so I figured why not up the ante a bit and add an orange flavored ice cream. I found a recipe for a simple (no cooking involved, just mix, chill and freeze) recipe for orange ice cream, and the results were fantastic. It was almost like adding a creamsicle between two crispy crunchy cookies! The cornmeal in the biscotti really paired nicely and this ice cream recipe is one I'll definitely be making again.
