In my opinion, tequila is an underrated liquor. I usually only use it to make margaritas or take shots. However, I've recently decided to experiment with the Mexican spirit in other drinks, like the cocktail seen here. This recipe was surprisingly refreshing and not too strong. With chunks of fresh pineapple and a slight fizz, it tasted like a tequila sangria. This sensational concoction is wonderful on a warm afternoon. I definitely plan on making it again, perhaps as an alternative to margs at my next fiesta. To see how I made it, read more

Chefs Get Glamourous For Bravo's A-List Awards
On Wednesday night, Bravo hosted their first-ever award show, the "A-List Awards" honoring those who have made a significant impact on the arts — beauty, design, fashion, food, pop culture — that are featured on the network's shows. Although the awards won't be televised until June 12, you're in luck because I have a sneak peek!
Along with the judges Tom Collichio, Padma Lakshimi, Gale Simmons, and Ted Allen, the majority of this season's Top Chef contestants and some from seasons past were present at the event. This award show was hosted by Kathy Griffin who gave awards to the "A-List Chef" and "A-List Restaurant," but as far as I'm concerned, the highlight was seeing the chefs out of the kitchen and on the red carpet!
To take a closer look at the chefs including Daniel Boulud, Jose Andres, Rocco DiSpirito, Brian Malarkey, Dale Levistsky, Dana Corwin, and all of your faves from Top Chef Season 4 — read more
Do You Take an Afternoon Coffee Break?
In the afternoons, it's not uncommon to see several Sugar staffers heading out for a coffee break. Maybe it's the postlunch sleepy slump or a sudden craving for sunlight, but the cafes in our block get crowded around 2 or 3 p.m. Are you among the throngs near your office?

Fast & Easy Dinner: Chipotle Steak and Tomatoes

This delicious dish places thick slices of grilled steak on a bed tomatoes and avocados. Flavored with spicy chipotle peppers in adobo, it's kind of like a deconstructed fajita with no tortilla. The recipe is super simple and comes together in mere minutes. Served with a cold beer, it makes a superb start to the weekend! Get it now when you read more
Come Party With Me: Graduation — The Look
When creating the look for your graduation party, start by choosing a color scheme. The graduate's favorite colors or the school's colors make perfect selections. Cover the tables in pretty, printed tablecloths.
Make a "Congratulations" banner and hang in a visible location. Tie balloons to your mailbox, so guests know where the party is. Serve the pasta in modern serving bowls. Stack plain white plates nearby. Write the name of each dish on a small card, place in a place card holder, and set near the serving bowls. On the bar, line the glasses up next to the ice bucket and lemonade and iced tea pitchers.
Finally, don't forget fabulous flowers. A green and white bouquet is fresh and elegant.
Girl Talk With Top Chef Antonia Lofaso
On this week's Top Chef, we saw final-four contestant Antonia Lofaso leave Puerto Rico. When I spoke to her yesterday, she was in New York lunching with fellow finalist Stephanie. The two chefs were in town for Bravo's A-List Awards, and Antonia was nice enough to take a break from her meal of gnocchi and sweetbreads to chat about her time on the show.
Antonia isn't just a Top Chef contestant; she's also a fan who has watched the series since the first season. To hear how her experience compared to what she'd seen on TV and find out what her 8-year-old daughter thought of it all, read more

Take the QuizOff to Market Recap: New Coasters
Since my coasters are old, warped, and bending, I've decided to invest in some new ones. You helped me scour the Internet for the most fabulous coasters. You looked for colorful coasters that are functional yet super stylish. You saved the coasters in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, New Coasters. I'm absolutely in love with these mirror coasters that marcella discovered. She describes them as "classical and functional" and points out that they "don't clash with any decor." I agree with her 100 percent and think these coasters will look perfect in my living room! To look at all of the coasters, scroll to the right below.
