Would You Eat This Fried Mac and Cheese?

As soon as I heard that Jack in the Box was debuting these Cheesy Macaroni Bites, I knew I had to try them.

As soon as I heard that Jack in the Box was debuting these Cheesy Macaroni Bites, I knew I had to try them. Macaroni and cheese is my favorite comfort food, and I love trying the latest flavor of any item to come out of the deep fryer.I almost had a heart attack when I learned what the calories were on this tiny snack, (although it could have been that my arteries were already filling up with saturated fat). Still, the petite wedges — with their gooey, cheesy interior and crispy, golden, battered exterior — were delicious.

In the future, I think I'd have a hard time enjoying them without feeling sharp pangs of guilt. What do you think: Would you be able to enjoy them?

Is Ruby Tuesday Blowing Its Campaign Out of Proportion?

Restaurant chain Ruby Tuesday announced its plans to destroy one of its locations next Tuesday in an explosion that will be broadcast live on its website.

Restaurant chain Ruby Tuesday announced its plans to destroy one of its locations next Tuesday in an explosion that will be broadcast live on its website. The explosion signals a new era for the chain, something the company has been trying to do with its slogan, "It's a brand new Tuesday."

The bomb will go off on Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. EDT, at an undisclosed restaurant location which is the last remaining "old-style site." The overhaul includes a new "simple, fresh, American dining" menu and revamped décor. The makeover was the plan of David Oakley, who said:

They have redone everything . . . gotten rid of all the bicycles hanging from the recycles, the surfboards and old movie posters to point where there wasn't an inch of space.

With an oversaturated sit-down restaurant market and an increasingly poor economy, the casual dining industry has been reeling. This campaign comes on the heels of an announcement two days ago that Bennigan's would be closing almost 300 restaurants after more than 30 years. What do you think about the bombing? Will you watch?

Come Party With Me: Waterpark Party — Drinks

Lately I've been into making cocktails with rum.

Lately I've been into making cocktails with rum. I'm sick of vodka drinks and have since started experimenting with the Latin libation. For the waterpark party, I plan on mixing up this refreshing rum punch. It looks like lemonade, so if anyone asks what we're sipping that will be our quick reply! This potent cocktail, from the inventive minds of MyRecipes.com, is a blend of rum, brandy, and pineapple, orange, and grapefruit juices. To make it more thirst quenching, I'll float a splash of sparkling water on top.

Hopefully you know your tomatoes (and your shades of nail lacquer!) because I'm going to throw out a bunch of names for you to identify. You tell me if it's a fingernail polish color or an heirloom tomato variety. Are you ready? Let's get started!

Not Your Regular Nachos: Fish Taco-Bite Nachos

Over the weekend, my dad made a big batch of coleslaw.

Over the weekend, my dad made a big batch of coleslaw. Since he's going on vacation, he loaded me up with the leftovers. I've always loved the crunch of coleslaw on fish tacos, so I translated the concept of fish tacos into nachos. The final result was a delicious, bite-sized fish taco. I topped baked wheat tortillas with gruyere cheese, a creamy guacamole, and fresh fish. The coleslaw and jewel-like, chopped tomatoes finished off the nachos. A squeeze of lime juice is the must-have garnish. To look at the recipes, read more
