(owner and operator of yumsugar.com and Shopstyle.com), having an address of 111 Sutter Street, 8th Floor Suite 850, San Francisco, CA 94104, and Barneys New York (the “Sponsors”).

ELIGIBILITY:
Open only to permanent legal U.S. residents physically residing in the fifty (50) United States of America and the District of Columbia, excluding the state of Rhode Island. Employees of the Sponsors and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies and any other entity involved in the development or administration of this Giveaway, and their immediate family members or household members are not eligible to participate in or win the Giveaway. All prizes won by minors will be awarded to their parents or legal guardians on their behalf. Winners may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and complete relevant tax forms as a condition to the delivery of the applicable prize. Void where prohibited by law. All applicable federal, state and local laws apply.

HOW TO ENTER: No purchase is necessary to participate in the Giveaway.
There are two (2) ways to enter the Giveaway:

1. Online Entry. To enter online, you must navigate to the Giveaway entry slideshow post (http://www.yumsugar.com/11963201), navigate to the final slide and submit your email between 2:00pm PST on Friday, November 19, 2010 and 11:59pm PST on Monday, December 6, 2010 (the “Entry Period”). By entering online, you will be agreeing to receive the PopSugar Network weekly email, ShopStyle weekly email, and Barneys New York email.

2. Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE). You may also enter the Giveaway by mail as follows. On a plain 3” x 5” index card, legibly handprint or type your first name, last name, date of birth, complete address, city, state, zip code, home phone number (including area code), and email address (if any) and mail your completed 3” x 5” card to: “YumSugar’s Foodie Holiday Giveaway”, Sugar Publishing, Inc., 111 Sutter Street, 8th Floor Suite 850, San Francisco, CA 94104. To be considered eligible in the Giveaway, AMOE entries must be postmarked not later than December 6, 2010 and received not later than 11:59 pm PST on December 9, 2010. Each AMOE entry must be mailed in a separate envelope.

Regardless of the method used to enter this Giveaway, the maximum number of entries allowed during the Giveaway Period is one (1) per person. At the discretion of the Sponsors, any attempt by a person to submit more than the stated maximum number of entries by using multiple/different addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, identities, logins, and/or any other methods will void all of such person’s entries and such person may be disqualified from participation in this Giveaway. At the discretion of the Sponsors, (i) entries generated by script, macro, or other automated means, (ii) entries completed by anyone other than the entrant, and (iii) mechanically or programmatically reproduced AMOE entries may be void. Sponsors will not confirm receipt of entries for entrants. All entries submitted become the sole property of Sponsors and will not be returned. Normal time, toll, connection and usage rates, if any, charged by your Internet or telecommunications service provider will apply.

By registering, you will be agreeing that your registration and any other information collected in connection with the Giveaway may be used by the Sponsors in accordance with Sugar Publishing, Inc.’s Privacy Policy and may be shared with Sponsors’ affiliated business entities, and that you automatically opt-in to receive email, text messages or other communications from the Sponsors. You may subsequently opt-out of the receipt of such email or communications by following the directions in the email or communications or by contacting the Sponsors directly.

All registrations must include entrant's valid email address. The email address provided by online entrants will be the identity of the entrant and, if selected for a prize, the identity of the winner. We expressly reserve the right to disqualify any entries that we believe in good faith are generated by an automated program or via scripts. Decisions of the Sponsors are final and binding with respect to all matters related to the Giveaway. All prizes will be awarded. No Prize Transfer or Substitution: No prize or any portion thereof is transferable or redeemable for cash. Any portion of the prize that is not used is forfeited.  No substitutions for prize except by Sponsor, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted.

SELECTION:
The winning entries will be chosen at random. The number of eligible entries received determines the odds of winning. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting the entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the e-mail account is registered. The Giveaway will be conducted under the supervision of the Sponsors. The decisions of the Sponsors are final and binding in all matters relating to this Giveaway. The winners will be notified by email; Sponsors reserve the right to determine the method of notification. Winners must claim their prize within three (3) business days after the date of notification of such prize. 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic

1 pound chicken tenders

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Whisk lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, jalapeños, oil and salt in a 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish. Add tenders, bell pepper and onion; toss to coat. 2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 cups Cheez-It Cheddar crackers (3 oz.)
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/4 lbs. chicken tenders (not coated or cooked)
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 (12- to 16-oz.) bag baby spinach
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Put oven rack in lower third of oven and preheat oven to 475 degrees F. Brush a large shallow baking pan with oil (2 tablespoons).
  2. Pulse crackers in a food processor until finely ground, then transfer to a wide shallow bowl and stir in 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Toss tenders with mustard in a large bowl until coated, then dredge, 2 at a time, in cracker crumbs until evenly coated. Arrange tenders in 1 layer, without crowding, in oiled pan. Bake, turning over once, until golden brown, about 15 minutes total.
  3. Meanwhile, melt butter in a 5- to 6-quart heavy pot over moderate heat, then cook spinach, covered, turning with tongs, until spinach is just wilted, about 2 minutes. Stir in salt and remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper, then serve spinach with chicken.

Besides the stuffing and the mashed potatoes, one of the things I love about Thanksgiving is the turkey.

Besides the stuffing and the mashed potatoes, one of the things I love about Thanksgiving is the turkey. If you've never made roast turkey before, don't be intimidated; I've got a simple and surefire technique for perfect turkey: make an herb butter. Soften, then season butter with tons of fresh herbs and rub the whole thing all over the turkey, including under the skin. Depending on the theme of your menu, the butter can be seasoned with all sorts of herbs, spices, and condiments. This recipe gets extra fat and flavor from the addition of chopped bacon and tangy Dijon mustard; however, feel free to adapt the butter to your liking! The resulting turkey comes out of the oven with a glistening skin and moist meat. Check out the basic method now.

Ingredients

Herb Butter
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
8 ounces applewood-smoked bacon slices, coarsely chopped
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup chopped fresh thyme
1/4 cup chopped fresh sage
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon coarse sea salt or coarse kosher salt
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon finely grated lemon peel
Turkey
1 12-15 pound turkey
1 onion, cut into chunks
1 carrot, cut into chunks
1 celery stalk, cut into chunks
several sprigs of thyme
several sprigs of sage
1 lemon cut into quarters

Directions

  1. Make the herb butter: Blend all ingredients in processor until bacon is finely chopped. Transfer to sheet of plastic wrap. Using plastic wrap as aid, roll butter mixture into 2-inch-diameter log; chill until firm. Can be made 3 days ahead. Keep chilled.
  2. Cut bacon-herb butter into 1/4-inch-thick rounds and let stand at room temperature 20 minutes. Rinse turkey inside and out; pat dry. Starting at neck end, carefully slide hand between skin and breast meat, then slide hand between skin and thigh meat. Carefully slide butter slices between skin and leg, thigh, and breast meat to cover (there will be a generous amount of butter mixture). Spread butter over the entire outside of turkey. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon coarse salt and 1 teaspoon pepper over turkey, and 1 teaspoon coarse salt and 1 teaspoon pepper in main cavity of turkey. Place turkey on rimmed baking sheet.
  3. Set rack at lowest position in oven; preheat to 350°F. Stuff the turkey cavity with the onion, carrot, celery, extra herbs, and lemon. Place turkey in a roasting pan. Tuck wings under; tie legs together loosely to hold shape. Place turkey in oven; roast until instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of thigh registers 170°F, basting with pan drippings every 30 minutes and tenting loosely with foil if browning too quickly, about 4 hours total. Transfer turkey to platter (internal temperature of turkey will increase 5 to 10 degrees). Let turkey rest for 15 minutes. Carve and serve with your favorite gravy.

2 oz apple cider
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
3 small dashes of fresh ginger juice
apple spear, optional for garnish

Directions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine all of the ingredients.
  2. Fill with ice and give a generous shake. Double strain into a martini glass and garnish with a spear of apple.

Makes 1 drink.
