Equipment Lab: T-Fal Actifry
When the Actifry was first conceived three years ago, I marveled at the concept of making perfect French fries with nothing more than a spoonful of oil. Now that the French invention's finally hit the American market, T-Fal, the company behind the appliance, sent me one to try out. According to T-Fal, home cooks can save over 200 calories and 10 grams of fat per serving in comparison to fast food fries when using the Actifry ($300). Was it really possible that delicious fries could be made with just a tablespoon of oil, compared to a couple liters of it? Find out when you keep reading.

Taste-Off: Sausage McMuffin vs. BK Breakfast Muffin
In the past year, the fast food breakfast wars have taken a fiercely competitive turn, and the battle has intensified even more between fast food's top two, McDonald's and Burger King. With the two contenders serving a nearly identical breakfast sandwich, we decided it was high time for a taste-off. Which one was better? The breakdown, and our verdict, after the jump.

Ham, Cheese, and Puff Pastry Are Excellent Together
When TrèsSugar hosted a party on a recent Friday night, I not only supplied her with a bunch of easy appetizer ideas, I also volunteered to make something for the event. I took my own advice and threw together a quick, but tasty app with puff pastry. Since Trés is a huge fan of all things French, I decided to do ham and cheese pinwheels seasoned with dijon mustard. Pinwheels are a great portable potluck appetizer option because you can assemble them at home and when you get to the party, slice, bake, and serve.
