Happy Hour: Ginger Sidecar

While you want Thanksgiving tipples to be memorable and festive, make sure to keep them accessible enough for the whole family (including your less-than-experimental sister-in-law). One way I like to approach this is by placing a contemporary twist on an otherwise standby cocktail.
Much like a pear essence cosmopolitan mellows out the cosmo, here, ginger and maple syrup add a Winter twist to the classic World War I-era sidecar. It won't rouse any raised eyebrows, but do prepare yourself for a table full of compliments. For a timeless cocktail with a hint of sugar and spice, read more.
Starbucks Hops On the Fresh Juice Bandwagon
After all that speculation, we've finally received confirmation that it's true: Starbucks is entering the juice market.
The coffee behemoth announced today that it's acquired the Evolution Fresh chain and plans to open up a string of juice bars. The juice and health foods retail concept will open next year.
Apparently, we aren't the only ones who think fresh-pressed juice is America's obsession right now. What do you think of the move?
Holiday Shopping — Gifts For Everyone on Your List

Each holiday season, as you’re zipping through your shopping list and checking off gifts for family and friends, you eventually get down to that one person — the MOST difficult person to shop for in the world! Fortunately, this year you can find gifts for everyone on your list (and for less!). Too good to be true? No way! At HomeGoods, Marshalls, and T.J.Maxx, you can pick up designer handbags, cashmere sweaters and scarves, gourmet cookware, and designer fragrances — all at less-than-mall prices.
What Are Your Favorite Thanksgiving Traditions?
Thanksgiving is about homey, comforting recipes with simple ingredients that are cooked to perfection. From the time that we're in elementary school, we have images imprinted in our brains of what Thanksgiving looks and tastes like: pumpkin pie, cornbread, and, of course, the main event of a big, beautiful bird.
But depending on where you grew up, or where your family comes from, you may have some traditions that seem synonymous with the holiday in your kitchen, but differ from other houses on your block. Do you go with a sit-down supper or do you opt for buffet-style line? Are there any dishes that absolutely have to be on your table, or else it's not really Thanksgiving?
